Very lovely, Teresa, and so deeply profound! True, from nature and God's divine hand we are born, and to nature we will one day yet again return. Fodder and fertilizer for the insides of a burial chamber. However, I speak of just our physical being, our fleshy shell which our true essence inhabits. That of our spirit, and our souls.
Wonderfully done and beautifully composed.

this is very well written, therese, beautiful imagery about rising from the dirt, going the course of the life that's granted to us, and returning to the earth afterwards. I enjoyed reading it

I think your poem expresses very well that the earth isn't here just for our benefit. We are a part of the earth's cycle, hence, the earth is a part of us. We cycle through our lives like every other living thing on this wonderful planet. Thank you for sharing.

Simplicity of form . Complexity of thought. The cycle of life - from the earth we come and to the earth we return. Between those two we should really live life as simply and unassumingly as possible. But we crowd life with unnecessary loads and thoughts in our self-important journey through life. We should all listen to your words. Brilliant. Emeka

This is a very compelling Free Verse about our connectivity to the earth and the universe. It reminds me a bit of The Desiderata. We are indeed children of the Universe and have a right to be here.
I like how you take us from emerging from the earth and returning to it - Something like the Anglican Prayer: Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. There is something very spiritual about your poem , Teresa. It was a pleasure to read.

Yours is a beautiful poem depicting the cycle of life. The way you formatted your poem lends to its imagery. You touch on the most important aspects of life needed, the sun, the sea, flora and fauna. They all paint a vivid picture of birth to dead to life. A great poem; very well written. Great job; God bless!

This is an all encompassing story of life, told in simple , harmonious terms. I love the description of the horizon, 'where earth touches infinity' and the very source of nurturing power, the sun.You have gone full cycle from soil to soil. Well done.
