Nothing like an escape from stress to enliven the senses. The grass is greener, the breezes' more welcome and the warmth of the sun permeates all. Well done!

Comment from Christine B.
One of the most gentle and beckoning pieces I have read that sings about the lonesome place between life's allure and death's still bag of bones. Let me live, let me live before my toes are stuck beside those who expired before, the words reflect. Very compelling!

Wow Christine--You really connected with the ambivalence I felt about maybe leaving the world, appreciating what the world gives. Your line about "the lonesome place between life's allure and death's still bag of bones is terrific. Is it original? If so, you must make it a poem! Thanks! Caroline

A little bit of garden grace and the wisdom to let it be absorbed into your soul. It's such a wonderful experience, and yes, sometimes it takes a frightening situation to make us really SEE and really FEEL the awesomeness of a garden.
My garden offers me so much solace - and I am a slave of summer - I absolutely worship her.
Your Free Verse captures your epiphany well. One can feel how much you savoured the experience. It is spoken in such a comforting voice - I just had to read it a couple of times to drink it in.
Rose.

Thanks, Rose! You speak my mind about gardens and summer. However, if I had had a health scare in winter, I think I would have felt the same angst for a different season. thanks for your kind remarks.

I wouldn't change a thing - perfect as it is - full of great vivid imagery - you get my last six for the week:) I love all of those things too. I'm glad your crisis is past:)

The lazy, hazy days of summer with the birds choral renditions. The couch of the warm earth. This is very well written making for a good read.

This is a beautiful poem. I have found solace in the arts since my bout with cancer. Your theme of savoring the everyday things of life is the key to survival. Words cannot express the source of hope that comes from taking the time to commune with God and nature. Indeed let us be born again in the summer sky and let the flowers of peace grow in our souls.

Bryan- this is such a sweet and thoughtful response to my poem. You are right about the gift of nature when we are suffering in anyway. It is the only constant in my life. Thanks again. I hope your bout with cancer is over. Caroline

Uh, wow. That's all I can say. This is an exceptional example of free verse. You spin some stunning lines and phrases loaded with poetic imagery. If I started quoting my favorites, I'd just be copying the whole poem.
I'm going to bookcase this and becomea fan. Thanks for a stunning write,
Drusilla!
