Hi Pili,
No truer words have been spoken. War defies all reason and logic. I'm a disabled Vietnam vet, so been there and done that. Forty-five years later, it still makes no sense to me. the horror it brings to the innocent is inexcusable. You have summed up those feelings in a few short but very emphatic words. Excellent writing!

Wow. Sorry I have no six for you. This is emotional and very moving. The first thing I thought of was Vietnam and images from that era. Then, more current events came to mind. War is horrible and these poor children don't have a chance. Great and important work here. Take care.

Against reason and logic, the terror and agonizing fears of war and bloodshed around the world continues unabated. Even the United Nations is impotent and unless the world leaders can come together for a more concerted effort and plans, the warring nations and thousands of innocents will die needlessly.
Great rhetoric write about the horror of death by murder happening today.
Great write and well expressed.
Cheerio, hugs and luv, bro Ritchie. :))

This is really an interesting and a rhetorical piece of writing. We must come together, to show we all care and loved life - whatever it takes.
Have a lovely weekend.
Keep smiling and laugh more.
Cheerio, hugs and luv, bro Ritchie. :))

So beautifully wrought.
I can not understand why the mothers of the earth do not rise up and put an end to these senseless wars. The suffering is always too high of a price to pay.

To start with...I love the picture opening this work. The words of the poem, strike hard trying to understand the senselessness of the what happens everyday in this world. Beautifully written.

As logical reason dies- I think it is already dead. The Ukraine, Gaza, Isis- it seems as if the world has gone insane. Just a few suggestions- "wounded souls/trembling shadows"- wounded souls are trembling shadows under fire or become or simply wounded souls tremble shadows under fire. Also, logic and reason are basically the same thing. I would just use either logic or reason.

Hi Pili - a very good though sad free verse - well written. We will never understand life's mysteries - it is the nature of the world. Excellent picture. I wish you good luck in the contest. Regards Dorothy

This is writing about the unresolved differences of humanity that frequently gets "settled" at the cost of lives. Scattered families, orphans, widows and destruction of homes and communities being the other collateral damage.
Until man learns to resolve their differences by peaceful means, thess insane actions will result in continued disruption of lives.

Good content. Lots of feeling. Great topic. To give a positive answer and ending to the poem would ruin the mood you ceated, but I wish it were possible!

Possibly most humanity wants peace, but in human history it has not yet happen
unfortunately. Thank you for a terrific comment. Pili

Yep, you described life in all in naked appeal and reality! Life not always seems as we were told as children. What you did was give a message that life "s*&$s and then you die!" This is what everyone should learn

I believe most people want peace, but since the beginning of human history
was never global peace. Powerful and meaningful comment, thank you so much. Pili
