The rhythm and rhyme in your poem is pretty awesome - I love the metaphoric use of wind for the Holy Spirit - you never know if you will be touched by a gentle breeze or a howl to guide or drive. Nice. :-)

royowen: this is a lovely poems and one which entices us to think more about the wind. The subject of wind in poetry is certainly not new, however, your version is original and refreshing; leaves the reader with something nice to ponder during their day. Good writing, Roy. Linda

'Breezes, part I' is an extremely well-written and thought-provoking piece. Not for a moment would I attempt to answer this talented poet's rhetorical questions. It was a pleasure to read and review a work of this standard.

Hi Roy - This is very beautiful and I love the use of metaphor for the Holy Spirit. I thought your second stanza was very good - fine description of how things are when the wind ceases. Although your author notes tell us you use wind as a metaphor for the Holy Spirit, your second stanzais more of a real wind missing, rather than metaphor, ie flags on pole hang limp and low, clothes on lines hang limp and wet. This would not be through the Holy Spirit, this would be lack of real wind. But I loved the read - it flowed well, and, as I know, your faith in the Holy Spirit is very evident. Kind Regards Dorothy x

This is a beautiful lyrical poem, I must say. It is penned down in a vivid manner and the musings are expressed clearly. I like the rhyme and rhythm of it.

Your meter/cadence is honed to perfection and your rhymes/couplets are nicely done. Your metaphor is clearly painted :-) I'm looking forward to the second half :-)
