YES! Short, simple, geniue, wisdom felt and loving. I love how this closes...use the arms to hug and show love. A wonderful message!

Your little work is indeed short and thought provoking. The picture is all too cute. As always, your writing is quite enjoyable. I hope you get this message because I pushed an "x" and the computer says it won't display my reviews (I am not very computer savvy and don't know what all that means).

What a lovely idea, Brooke. Someone raised in love is less likely to participate in wars. The world needs more love.

Sawyer is adorable in that picture. Well done, Brooke.

So he had enough bananas and is satisfied to take care of a little cuddling. Nice short piece and well done as always. I look forward to every written word. :) !!!!!

Well said. So few words can carry such a large message. And the picture is adorable and a pleasant adjunct to the words. Good write.

He who hugs is not inclined
to arm himself for war.
Instinct ought to have more say
in what our arms are for.

Yes, I agree. One can't be capable to destroy if he is designed only to build. I admire you and your daughter for raising Sawyer well. God bless... c", Mae

Love and war are eternally incompatible. So hints our poet, firm in her belief and faith. But don't we just sometimes wonder that a lust for power might be embedded deep inside of ourselves. Ekim 777

Troubled times indeed - perhaps we should turn the running of the world over to the little children.

Clever use of the pun on arms to make a point.

I think it was Thomas Hood who had this to say:
Ben Bolt he was a soldier bold
And used to war's alarms,
But a cannon ball took off his legs
So he laid down his arms...

Such a poignant thought with simplistic grace and ease that the entire country would benefit from learning. Well conceived.

Yes, arms are made for hugging, holding, swinging from monkey bars and helping mommies. I enjoyed your 'epigram'. It may be the first I have seen.
