Loved the poem and the picture. He who hugs IS NOT inclined to arm himself for war. If only the world could read this and take note. Lovely poem and Sawyer is a fine role model.

A very clever twist on words Brooke, great little poem it's a small pearler! I guess it's true people who hug they're not likely to go to war...willingly, people who love peace! Nice abcb rhymingBlessings, Roy.

Well, I have already broken my new rule. NO 6's on Sundays...gotta save some for the rest of the week. This is so precious, clever, and says so much in so few words. Absolutely superb work with this one. Definitely a 6 as far as I am concerned.

Excellent epigram with powerful message, our leaders should be
hugging each other and talk logic instead of sending the young to fight.
Delicious picture of Sawyer by Miranda . Pili

Hi Brooke - Very good epigram - four good lines with much meaning. Good use of homonym in the word 'arms'. Is Sawyer in a 'vacant and pensive mood' or does he just not line bananas? LOL. Kind Regards Dorothy x

Lovely photo and always. It is no doubt funny, and short. There is quite a lot of truth in it as well. Congratulations on your prize for the ABCD. Are you not going to teach anymore?

Hugging is far better than killing. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. Great imagery.

A thought-provoking poem, Brooke, and our dear Sawyer looks like a thinker on this one, hugging his toy. I like his serious brown eye which is fixed on eternity (smile), pondering things.
The last two lines are memorable, and stay with the reader.

Yelena, thank you so much, my friend. Yep, he does have his contemplative side, and I love it when it shows up in his expressions :-) Brooke

This is a very moving piece, with a fantastic use of rhyme and metaphor. Very clever comparison. Love this picture of Sawyer!
Great job Brooke!

Dear Brooke,
Arms should be for hugging as you say and not to harm other people. For war is terrible and it results in maiming of the peoples' spirit.
Warm regards,
Winslow
