Beautifully stated with a truly meaningful message, Brooke! It says, in so few words: more hugging (loving) -- less fighting! It is short with nice use of alliteration in hugs/himself and arms/are.
Thanks again for sharing your talent and Sawyer! Alana

This is an adorable photo of an adorable little guy. I think every little one needs to have a stuffed toy of some sort to cuddle into, when needed. I saved my boys and when they started having children of their own, I gave them back their stuffed toys. The each still have them. LOL

Thanks so much, Barbara. Miranda bought this dog several years ago for Nora, who gave it back to her for Sawyer when she got to be a big girl. :-) Brooke

AMEN! What a fabulous message in this sweet and particularly clever poem - instinct SHOULD play a MUCH bigger role in our lives than it does - society as a whole is messed up!!!

Boy oh boy...how appropriate for the times, actually for any times. I fear we have put our arms in one position, holding a gun. I'd rather use my arms for hugging, not mugging.

Your picture sets the tone for
this beautiful epigram that
poetically states a message
for the world to head.
Well done

Hi Brooke,
I think Sawyer, hugging his toy, brings your beautiful poem to life.
Our TV has been showing similar toys, lying in a muddy field, the remains of the aircraft shot down by madmen in the Ukraine.
What next?

Ron, I have seen those pictures too, and my heart is hurting. What is it going to take for everyone to say no to the madness?

'An Epigram for Troubled Times.' A rather lovely, and subtle way to send a serious message to unsuspecting people, about the condition this world finds itself in. Well done, Brooke.

Love this! Such a great pun on arms - arms should be for hugging, not weapons for war. Clever word play and a cute presentation with your adorable Sawyer. Great bouncy beat and fine rhymes make it a good quatrain. Would also work great as a naani.
Very nice alliteration on I and H
