heart-flowers align
along stem fed from one root
unity blooms
Wow! great thought in tiny poem as unity booms. People like flowers with tender thoughts to teach the things so sweet, it blooms. Simply very sweet and lovely.

I love the subject of this haiku, rd. And what a gorgeous presentation.
Excellent use of "align" to capture the image of these pretty, dangling flowers.
Clever satori.
I pondered over the construction of the second line. "one root" sounds more spiritual than an actual observation of nature.
Actually the entire poem seems to be an extended metaphor. Quite striking!
Best of luck in the contest.

Hi R.
Heart flowers: the generative force within emotion; the expression of feeling and the feeling of expression; the bursting forth of beautiful things; the growth (the seeds) of expression within others.
align: become balanced, also in a line as arranged; a sequence of feelings arranged into words.
along: preposition meaning on the stem but also carries the shadowed sense of "a long stem" slender. An example of pure poetry.
fed from one root: springing from one source (supernatural force and also from the womb). There is also a shadowed meaning implying conception: the act of sexual congress; the flower as the means and attraction of fertilization.
unity blooms: blooms that are united and also a sense of togetherness increasing among many. The unit is the symbol of one, while unity is the collective noun of many ones being brought together.
This is a fine example where brief forms must own every word and work them such, that every connotation is supported and expanded.
A very fine piece.
Cheers,
Laurie Keim

Hey Rama, a clever little haiku jam packed with deep meaning. Most significantly, the sacred truth of the root chakra: All is one. It can be a real challenge to embrace this in our separatist culture largely governed and shaped by fear, but as your poem suggests, in those intervals that we do, a sense of unity does bloom. The accompanying pic is an inspired choice: a bleeding heart (not that I knew what it was called. I thought it was a fuchsia but then saw your response to a review! LOL), which appropriately symbolises wearing our heart on our sleeve. And, it's a perennial, so even though that which blooms eventually dies (flower or a sense of unity), it will once again flower.
Very nicely done! And lovely to see your smiling face (your new profile pic).
Cheers

Just beautiful, can't judge it as a haiku...because I can never write those, but beautiful in itself, I love the Bleeding Hearts, what a great choice! Blessings...Judy

Stem fed from one root- a true unity of the heart. And they can only align in one direction- to love and be loved. Do you know the actual name of those exquisite blossoms?

Love this. Is this some kind of fuschia? (must have that spelled wrong!) I take this as the beautiful inside that is within all of these funny shells we carry around. So simple and true, yet we strain so hard to grasp it. mikey
