Very fun poem. It is indeed an adventure for both parent and child when they time to explore. Sawyer, I can tell, is an adventurous, curious child. How beautiful.
Thanks for sharing.

Another poem that successfully delves into the child's imagination with the trickery of the "poly bug." Sometimes I wish adults had that kind of imagination. It would make for a more fun-filled life. Well done, Brooke.

You seem to have written what is making me feel like a kid again this week. I love the slang of yup. Great way to tone down any stuffiness. Not that your work is ever stuffy, but sometimes poetry does come off as such. Yup, just brings it right to my level. Great job.

Gretchen, thank you so very much :-) I appreciate your generous six stars. I agree with you - poetry can sound pretentious and stuffy, which is, I hope, a fate mine never suffers. Brooke

A perfect poem in rhyming couplets. No one has to wonder who is your heart's love. Sawyer is a lucky child; and you are one of a kind grandma. This poem flows easy, engages the reader and gives interesting information on a roly poly bug. Great job; God bless!

Brooke, I could tell right away this was one for a laugh. Yup! I have a silly question, but what is a roly' poly bug? I never heard of them. Loved this and the picture of Sawyer, of course! Hugs. Miss Sally

Miss Sally, thank you so very much :-) You should google it so you can see how cute it is when it curls into a little ball as a defense mechanism :-) Brooke

Okay, now you're just showing off. (LOL) Brooke, girl, God threw away the mould when He made you - you are not only so wonderfully talented, you show with every poem what it is to be young-at-heart.
Blessings, dear friend. You'd charm even the most hard-hearted soul with this one. :) Roly-poly bugs indeed!

This is yet another interesting poem about a little boy experimenting with bugs and insects. I remember playing with these numerous playthings when I was a boy too.
