I wonder if little GIRLS feel the same way about roly-poly bugs, Brooke. (I know I did - but in Australia we called them 'devil devils'). I always enjoy your light wit and perfect rhythm.

I'm collecting a variety of names for them from readers around the globe :-) I liked bugs when I was little, too - though now I just like the cute ones. LOL Thanks so much for your review :-) Brooke

Once again you bring a smile to my face. Yup! A big smile. I love your treatment of this. Kids will love it as well as adults. Great fun!

This kid Sawyer is some cool kid. Does he pose for you, or do you just roam through his day and come up with your wonderfully enchanting words?

Granny, I live 3000 miles away from him. His mom takes the photos.
And no, she shoots candid shots. If she asks him to do something for a picture, he usually won't cooperate, so candid is the only way to go :-) Thanks for your review. Brooke

This interesting poem has taken on the heavy question of the roily poly bug. These eight-syllable couplets are fun to read. The third stanza seems a bit out of sync with the others.

Very cute! We seem to have an insect theme going on. Such playful and fun rhymes, and I chuckled at the reference to the name and the goofy question!

Av, thanks so much :-) Miranda took such great pictures from their walk that day, so that resulted in the bug trend. If she takes a bunch of pictures from My Gym, we'll have a gymnastics trend. LOL :-) Brooke

I enjoyed reading this aloud to DH who thought it, as I do, charming.

Now we are sat here trying to think what we used to call them when we were children. Hopefully it will come to me.

The rhyming scheme is great not forced and the whole piece has a lovely sing song quality. A perfect for a child's nursery rhyme.

Thanks for sharing.

This is very cute and I'd love to say I did the same with my girls when they picked and poked at little furry, crawly things - alas, this child of the city went apoplectic and ran for holy water. I never got used to kids and bugs - even though its great for their imagination.

Nah, I'd rather buy the books and surf the net for photos.

Great rhymes and Sawyer seems to be a natural inspiration for you on many levels!

Jean, thank you so very much :-) Yeah, I'm not much into getting down on the ground to pick the little critters up either. LOL :-) Brooke

We have bugs in Australia called millipedes that if you touch them they do the same as these bugs that you speak of Brooke! The trouble is they proliferate and are difficult to handle! A nice kiddies poem to read them before they go to bed at night, you break from rhyming in the first At aaaa aabb nice rhyming, even meter! Blessings, Roy.

Roy, thank you so much :-) Yeah, these bugs are related or maybe even the same thing with a regional name. They only seem to see them on their walks and not as uninvited visitors to their house, so I guess they're not out of control in Encino. LOL :-) Brooke

Thank you for the great reply, but you don't have to, I know you're prolific, so don't need twits like me testing you! Blessings, Roy.
