Stubbornness is a really killer. Shows distrust. Like the natural flow of your poetic dialogue. Unfortunately, this attitude has been going on forever. Fire, I take as a metaphor for man's destruction. Wonderfully written. Les

I am crushed, limp , and drained from this absolute definitive speech against war. I lived this in the 60s and 70s when we railed against war and it's consequences. Well done. Your writing is solid as a rock.

"I'll cease fire if you do."
"Alright, but you cease fire first."
"No, no, you first, I insist...."
... still the children die.
This verse is outstanding, the picture is outstanding, and that is why this verse is a masterpiece. It describes what happens when a war between 2 nations start, the losers are the human race who has no choice but be threatened by the enemy. Very sad picture poem, but so true. Terry xoxo

Author: mechanically correct for the contest. A powerful theme, picture and words which hit me right in the gut and brought tears. Wouldn't change anything and it is definitely a contender in this contest. God bless you. livelylinda

Thanks, Linda, for the generous review.
Yes, a contest winner, but hopefully of more importance than just that.

Extremely graphic picture of the horrors of war and the innocent that die as a result of war.
The words show how stupid war is and why it never seems to end.
Good luck in the contest and keep writing

This brings tears to my eyes for it is so very true. What has happened to kindness and compassion? And how do we work to get them back. Great naani with a very sobering message. Good luck in the contest~Debbie

A good naani entry in this contest! I'm afraid unless one side stops the other will keep going. The Palestinians must be nuts, they're heavily outgunned, but it seems to be all about retribution! You surely must have a chance in this contest! Great theme, with artwork, blessings, Roy.

IMHO it's up to the Israelis. They have the upper hand and can concentrate on just defending themselves - their missile defence seems almost impenetrable. If Hamas keeps attacking after Israel stops then the tide of international opinion would turn violently against them...
Don't think it's going to happen though. In fact events of the last couple of days have proved it. Israel doesn't seem to realise that for every activist they kill they create a dozen more.
