WT? lol
you've gone all quirky on us.
Just hope Sawyer doesn't grow up with a Grandma Insanity Complex. (sic) haha
average proximate rhyming with 'Encino' and 'where we go' haha

No elephants live in Encino --
there's none in my neighbourhood --
I don't see them living where we go,
and really don't know if they should.

consider :

No elephants live in Encino --
There's none in my neighbourhood --
Maybe a sheep or merino,
But that wouldn't be quite as good

just as quirky but more perfect rhyming
don't you think? lol

Start branching out a bit with your subject matter. you are such a beautiful rhymer I want to see other topics because when you do them they are really good..give little Sawyer a break ok haha

Thank you, Dip - yep, merino rhymes more perfectly, but I have no desire to bring sheep into the poem or into Encino LOL
You'll have to talk to my muse about your final comment :-) Brooke

Of course Encino is a place! It's where my daughter and grandson live :-) It's also where Pat Sajak lives, but as far as I know, no sheep! If you don't know Pat Sajak, try Google LOL

well I haven't heard of it have I!! I'm from the backwoods of Australia remember where men are men and sheep are nervous!! lol!!
like do you know Wagga Wagga or Dubbo towns in Australia? no? well why not!..same same just remember we are all not stubborn yanks ok haha
If ya don't know these towns try google ok? lol

I bet the list of towns I don't know is pages and pages long :-) But have you never seen that classic movie, Encino Man?? Surely that makes it more globally famous than Wagga Wagga LOL
reply by DR DIP on 18-Jul-2014
I never knew Encino was a place more an adjective describing the man lol

He really is fascinated by ants, isn't he? Even your whimsical poems are a pleasure to read Brooke and at this point in my morning I would say a breath of fresh air! Giddy

As usual, it's a great poem, as are the many wonderful photographs of Sawyer. What a cutie he is. His parents must be so proud of him. I think your poems for children would make a wonderful children's book.

Good poem with a good picture of the grandson. Good word flow and rhyming as he tells about no elephants in his neighborhood. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely childrens poem Brooke. So easy
to read and understand, which is always
a help for me! It is so nice to read
a softer work. There are so many serious
works to be had on our site. And a bit
of whimsey it surely is. eric

Sawyer has a very "inspective" mind. Great for a child to wander about little ants and nature things. Great play of words with elephants and ants.

I don't know how I missed this one, Brooke! I love these thoughts coming from Sawyer. Very insightful. Nice use of alliteration in elephants/Encino; none/neighborhood, and nice perfect and proximate rhyming. Of course, as always, the poem has great rhythm and flow. Thanks, Brooke! Alana
