I love this! Very entertaining. It relates to reality as such thoughts are often expressed by our young children and that, in itself, adds to the enjoyment of the read. The carefree wonderment never ceases to put a smile on our faces. You did a remarkable job with this. It flows well and is free of errors.

Oh, boy. Easy pickings. It's gonna rhyme, it's gonna be spag free, it's gonna be whimsical and for the youthful,
and it'll be easy to read. And it was.

He'll just have to wait until he goes to the zoo to see those elephants. But at least ants are always in a huge abundance. Great picture by the way

Reminds me a bit of Dr. Seuss. Fun, and a bit of nonsensical images. Your rhymes are terrific, as always and the rhythm is dead on. Always fun to read you, Brooke.

This is such a lovely childrens poem, Brooke. While we all know you can write masterfully in any form on any subject matter I really look forward to the childeren pieces. Children can take so much from poetry and it can truly help them express their own creativity.

I liked the questioning tone and creativity here. Excellent work!

Brian

I like the way your poems and stories flow, not unnecessary stops to look up words that block meaning, just the unfolding of information that is fun to read.

The story seems to be for children, yet it gives any thinking adult the understanding that reality is a major factor in life, although many still live in fantasy as they move through life.

Some poems have rhymes to make the poem but miss the point; you have me looking for ants.

Hi Brooke - Always nice to read your poetic 'whimsy' and this is no exception. Nice story that always matches the picture of Sawyer - good abab rhyme, last stanza waivers a bit but does not spoil the rhythm or content of the poem. I assume Encino is where Sawyer lives. Encino/so, a good match? - just a thought. Enjoyable read. Regards Dorothy x

When one can't occupy their time with elephants, we must make do with other creatures;
"No elephants live in Encino";
"I think I will look for some ants"--animals from great to small incorporated into a well-crafted poem expressed from a child's perspective;
Pleasurable to read as we watch children explore.
