Hi Dean
I enjoyed this one immensely. So many people today don't believe that aliens and UFO's exist. They won'y believe until a UFO lands in their backyard, and aliens knock on the door.
Way back in my posts, I delivered a true story about a UFO sighting. It happened back in 1970 (or perhaps 71), and three fighter jets were scrambled after it. They flew right overhead ...at night... zipping where the UFO last disappeared across the river. At the time, I thought it would be in the newspaper, or on the radio at least. But not a word. Quite a few people saw it, along with the jets two minutes later. But not a word to acknowledge the sighting.
Nice presentation! You raise the question ... are they friend or foe? Will we shoot first, and think later? Do they want us for food? Or do they just want our planet before we destroy it?
I've never thought of them as "Pilgrims". But that suits them. I know John Wayne would call them "pilgrims". But he'd have a gun in his hand.
I love this line,
"they came to serve us, that is true...
with sweet soy sauce and rice fondue!"
My favourite verse,
"Like turkeys, now we're rounded up
and made to watch these Pilgrims sup
a horrid Pilgrim day in May
when we're the special of the day." ... I like how you combined the story of the pilgrims feast with these starving, bulbous-eyed aliens. Nicely done! My bit of humour for the evening... or could this be more real than I think?

cheers
Kimbob

Hah, I hope it isn't more real than you think, Kimbob, and it is wonderful to hear from you again!

I've always been under the impression that when they do decide to pay us an Earthly visit (if they haven't already), given mankind's proclivities towards violence and destruction, the aliens will be far more terrified of us than we are of them, LOL.

Thanks for the fantastic feedback and exceptional rating, my friend. I really appreciate that!

Another brilliant composition combining poetry with imaginative imagery and even animation. It flows and rhymes perfectly while conveying a sinister undertone to a diabolical tale about alien invasion. How clever to associate it with the pilgrims and Thanksgiving.

Hey, thanks a bunch, Tom, I am really glad that you enjoyed this crazy thing. In reality, if aliens ever did come to Earth, and given mankind's penchant for violence and destruction, they would probably be far more terrified of us than we are of them, LOL!

Thanks for the exceptionally rating and review, my friend. I truly appreciate that!

You have got the best imagination! And your graphics were perfect! I thought for a minute I was reading Stephen King. It's amazing to me how we are able to remember bits and pieces of our childhood like you did here, and still be inspired by these moments.. or, what we saw. Thanks Dean, this was so fun to read. Can we have a sequel somehow?

Dean, you really are a master of the sinister and horrid. As for your odd little poem, which was most enjoyable, it is a winner. I especially liked the little traces of sarcasm that gave the poem a bit of a comedic element.

Hey, Dean, what's for dinner... smells great... I'll have a slice, lol. Oh brother! I know the episode of which you speak. I was ten, and I relate to your reaction, lol, but I loved being scared. I have to say the old, "Invaders from Mars" was the one that really got to me, though. (I didn't notice the sippers down the back of the Martian's suits back then!)
Loved the premise in this one. If they gave us large screen TV's in the round-up bins, we'd probably just sit around waiting to be "tail-gated", lol. Nice job with this one... an enjoyable read. Best wishes, Bill

We loved The Twilight Zone too and still watch the old episodes from time to time. Often, they are better than current TV shows. I enjoy your animation and your ghoulish humor. This one was fun and truly happy reading. Although, it's almost midnight as I'm reading this one, I may have to read something more benign before turning out the lights.
Blessings
Janet

Hah ha, it wasn't all that scary, Janet, was it? I'm glad you like the TZ as well, and you're right, those old episodes are far more fun and interesting to watch than most of the other "junk" that dominates the tube these days. That's precisely why I read books most of the time instead.

Thanks so much for your exceptional rating and review. I'm really happy you had fun with it.~~Dean

I like this very much. You do so much with your animation that is is fun to read. I love the twilight zone. It comes on TV every night at ten. I never miss it.

Me either, baustian64. Even though I've seen most of them literally dozens of times, I keep on watching them.

Thanks so much for the complimentary review. I'm glad you appreciate the animation, too. Many do not.

After reading the fifth stanza,I figured out where the brilliant idea came for this poem. I'm a Twilight Zone fan with the companion book to all the shows.

The rhyming feels care free and fun. The monster's do not see what they are doing as wrong, especially since we allowed ourselves to be overthrown so easily.

In your author notes, you asked if the aliens could conquer us and do other things to us as in the twilight zone episode. And my answer is no. Today we are so gun crazy and paranoid any slightest threat would start street riots and air attacks. 911 has sucked all the trust issues out of us.

Ha ha, you're right about that, Muffins. That's why when they come here, they don't want to be seen. I'm sure they know mankind's proclivities towards violence.

Thanks for an entertaining, great review!

this is excellent writing, dean, you did an excellent job capturing the eerie cognizant behavior exhibited in the twilight zone episodes. I always liked the different direction they took on their movies. my favorite stanza was serve us with soy and fondue.

Ha, that's mine too, sweetwoodjax. I feel you always should have a little bit of humor in there somewhere.

I really appreciate the review, my friend!
