I really like this poem about "faith" because it is NOT a sermon. You present the topic in a very original manner. Did Columbus have the kind of faith you speak about in stanza 1? And don't we all assume that the air we breathe is non-toxic?
Finally, lovers must have faith (aka trust) that their hearts will not be broken.
Nicely wrought in only 8 lines, Brooke.

Exercising faith definitely requires unwavering concentration without hesitation, as you wrote. It also reaps its own rewards. Well chosen rhymes and words to convey your powerful spiritual message. Most enjoyable and good luck in the contest. Faye

Your poem is true to form, and has a wonderful theme. The reader can't expect anymore. Than that. Your poem makes one thing about the meaning of faith. YySometimes there is a fine line.

Dear Brooke,
I thought the metaphor of the wave travelling unswervingly to an unknown destination was the perfect metaphor for faith. Very well done and best of luck in the contest--Ted

Brooke, I do believe that love and faith are the two emotions that we will never understand or be able to discribe, but those two emotions are the key to our survival. Lovely picture and thoughts. Well said. Nancy

This is yet another beautiful poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. Faith is indeed all these things. It says that faith, hope and charity are the greatest things on this world and I agree. Good luck with the contest.

Beautiful, Brooke! What a lovely message. Your poem has wonderful rhyme and enjambment with a smooth flow. I believe the last two lines to be true: we must give our heart. Good luck in the contest. Alana

Hi Brooke,
I suspect that faith is when we give ourselves entirely into His hands and allow him to decide what, how when and where on our behalf.
Nice quatrain, it describes the question of 'faith' beautifully.
