I hope to be as good as this some day. This, along with most all of your poems, is a masterpiece. You will no doubt do well in the contest, as this poem will be the best entry.

So simple and lovely. Could've made for an excellent faith entry as well. I actually have a couple suggestions that aren't terrible. (I hope)
I was thinking "though" instead of "yet" in line three.
and
"the greatest gift I treasure." as the last line. Well, I am so trying to earn my keep! Hahaha. Beautiful piece, mikey

Dear Brooke,
Yes faith is the wave that bore the Polynesians across the wide Pacific to Hawaii. Faith indeed is not taking measure but just doing it.
Good luck in the contest.
Warm regards,
Winslow

Beautifully expressed, Brooke. A poetic way to ponder the meaning of faith. I love the examples you've used, especially the first stanza, which really demonstrates faith in its proverbial image of blind conviction.
I hope you kick butt in the contest, my lady!

I plain and simple love your poem. It stirs in me many feelings of spirituality. Your poem made me meditate on what my Faith means to me when I tried to answer the questions.
I especially am thinking on: ..." is it when I give my heart the greatest of all treasure?"

A favorite song and scripture prompted by your wonderful poem.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Love your effective use of analogy in this beautifully crafted poem on faith.
It brings to mind the timeless biblical parables ... especially the lovely lyricalism if Palms.
It is sometimes hard to convey deep spiritualism without being preachy and didactic ... You have maintained that delicate balance beautifully here.
Bravo!

Love "questioning" poetry.
No answers, faith does not supply answers.
It's like...remember..."but why mommy?" "Why, why, why?"
"Because", was usually the answer after a dozen whys.

To give your heart sure requires a lot of faith in the other person. As always, this is very well written. Good luck in the contest.

Faith is the basis for everything in life. Without faith how would it be possible to achieve, provide, love, honor etc.
I liked your first line, "is faith the wave that leaves the shore" because its a reaction to the earlier wave that rushed the shore.
Your poem gives us a lot the think about Brooke. Nicely done once again. John
