This is a funny poem that is super-sized with the picture of young Sawyer seemingly getting ambushed with a smack on the cheek. The meter is contributing to the happiness of the poem.

This could not have come a more perfect time. I have been frazzled at work because I could not do every thing I have planned. I am now going to accept it and get done what I can and let the rest go. Thanks for the great start for the my day. Loved the picture.

A perfect picture mirroring a child's ambivalence; he's shocked, but his eyes also say, 'Hey, not bad,' causing Grandma a great hope, and a nice rhyming, metered verse. Kenny

I love the flow, style and the message you give through this cute little story. Horatio ...and her visitor

She sashayed toward Horatio,
this pretty little miss,
and found a spot upon his cheek
to plant a little kiss.
[ such joy able lines]

The only problem that I have is ...is it really humor poetry? It looks more like a bed time story for children- So lost you there...Overall quite nice

K

Fun/clever slant rhymes in 'bliss/twist' and 'hands/plans', Brooke.

I wondered why 'Horatio' for, I guess, Sawyer, as when I saw the title, I thought it would be about the only Horatio I've heard of - Horatio Nelson. :-)

Anyway, your usual sweet and fun reading to start my morning with a smile.

Cheers, Ray

Damn! I agree, Brooke, and I now wish I'd chosen it for my latest pseudonym.

Oh well, there's still time. AAARRRGGGHHH! Some rotten 'Froggy' sailor just shot me.

"Kiss me, Hardy, but make it platonic, you macho beast, even though I quite like men in uniform." LOL xx

Ah, the best laid plans. I feel for Horatio.
Gils are always barging in and stealing kisses
when I'm trying to read, too. And I have to wear a disguise everytime I visit the library.

And now there's another photog in the household?
Sawyer won't have any privacy.

Lots of fun here, Brooke.

Peace, Lee

Lee, thank you, my friend :-) Yep, Myra loves to take pictures of him and Chloe. The kid never gets a break from posing. Sorry to hear of your troubles with those pesky ladies, Lee. Keep fighting the good fight to preserve your virtue :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke - This is a great poem which is totally enhanced by the photo - absolutely superb. The expression on Sawyer's face and his outstretched hand seems to be saying "What's a guy to do?" Your poem is a treat - I like the second stanza, especially 'his slippers on his feet'. A great read. Kind regards, Dorothy x

So very cute and fun. But also a bit of truth that days rarely turn out as planned. A great pix too. Take care, my friend. Have a great day~Debbie

A great piece of fun here your imagery is excellent and the eight six eight six syllable count is spot on the picture really fits the poem as well cheers Craig

..And here's hoping he finds his better way.. you can't say he hasn't a well rounded life after all. I've still got wishes that some day I can write as well as this.. alas, poetry is not my purpose, I'm afraid... yours sure seems to be, though :)
