This poem seems to mine the heart of one who has broken off a relationship that was already busted. Many will read this and remember when this moment occurred in their life's. Nice job.

We have a philosophical poet in our didst. "It is better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all." Does not love turn the world around? And yet can we say that human love is eternal. NO! Like life it is ever changing and transforming itself. Is not love infinite? It is about as infinite and life and death. Let us become aware of these new realities and become wise. -Ekim777

A sad poem of loss which does not always make the heart grow fonder. Well written and evokes emotion which is something I look for in poetry. Take care, my friend~Debbie

Simple message of pain and love...the artwork goes well with the lines, a way too simple diction for my liking though. The rhyme seems absent, but there is still flow in this free verse. Overall enjoyable

Hi deepwater, this is a sad and very poignant poem, but it is also full of truth, this has happened to every reader at some stage of their life, I feel your pain through the well structured and strong lines, the artwork is the cherry on the cake for your beautifully neaningful words.

There's a deep sadness that can't be avoided as you write about facing the truth. I feel you could add much more here to give this clarity, as you use: 'things' which is very vague. You've got emotions to build. Just a thought. Like the quickness of : "Set, ready, move on," Sometimes, it moves like that. Very nicely written. Les

I like this very much.....................in courage I was first to face the truth....
That does take courage ....and this is sad...............................cold was her heart for the man she had loved.......so sad
God bless

In courage I was first to face that truth,
Set, ready, move on,
Knowing the end was close, if not gone,
Simply but wisely stated --First you face the fact and then move on. Most times we know when the relationship has come to an end and still hang on

A sad and poignant piece. But then reality can really be sad. Great artwork and presentation. Sounds like a love affair gone bad. Good write.
