Your presentation alone tells a story. The words themselves were expertly crafted and "Hunter" does deserve to win. I can't help but think that perhaps you have given some thought to 'graphic novels'. With your writing skill and obvious tech. ability, I think it would be a perfect match. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the complimentary review, victor 66, and in a way, it's that type of feeling I try to create with a lot of my stories, that "graphic novel" feel. They're very popular today, and even I own several.

Thanks again for you feedback and generous rating, my friend. All are greatly appreciated!

Oh, I know how strict a reviewer you are. And, I am sure you're like me, as I feel I do a writer a great disservice if I tell them I feel their writing is good when it isn't. We both know that does far more harm than good, and completely defeats our purpose for being here.

So, I truly take you at your word, my friend. I know you would tell me otherwise if it were not so.

HI1 You tell a great tale of a werewolf taking his revenge on the wolf pack that has stole from him. the atmosphere and the savagery come across violently and the artwork is extremely well chosen. Good luck in this Comp. wiljacro

I've seen a great deal of horror movies when I was young. I preferred watching werewolves than vampires. I think, I hated these blood-sucking creatures, when I've watched Blade? But, I've seen the remake of Fright Night. Less bloody, hehe...

Have you considered writing a book? I think it will sell like burgers and fries? Then, it will become a movie. Man! I can't wait to see that with the high tech graphics available in the industry now... anything is possible.

Great twist and great entry for the contest!... c", Mae

Thanks very much, Mae, I really appreciate the comments and feedback. I am working to get my book in print now, a horror anthology of short stories. Keep your fingers crossed, LOL.

I hate what shows like Twilight: Breaking Dawn and others like it have done to the Vampire/Werewolf stories. I mean, c'mon, no matter how "cute" a guy is, what girl wants to be seen with a dude who looks as if he's never seen sunlight, and anemic? No girls I ever went ti school with, for sure! They've batardized and attempted to romanticize the very meaning for such tales to be told in the first place. I hate 'em.

Anyhow, thanks again for the great review. I really appreciate it.

hahaha... Wow! You are reading my mind! I hate that series too. It is always shown on HBO but I turned the TV off or switch to another channel. More like channel CI: Wicked Attraction, Born to Kill...

I'm not yet through reading all the stuff in your portfolio. I have a lot more to discover and learn from you and I'm so excited!

It's Friday today. I'll be home-bound. God bless and have a nice weekend! c", Mae

A very well told tale that I thoroughly enjoyed, the plot was established early, the hunter and the hunted reversed completely in the near ending, there was tension early and maintained through the story! It captured my attention at the beginning and maintained it! A good entry in this contest! Well done, blessings, Roy.

Great twist at the end I thought the guy was dead for sure. I know how dogs are in a pack they will eat anything when they are hungry and so will I lol. But a great story and this is by far number one. Thanks for writing such a great flow of words and I did have the pleasure of reading such a great short story. Thanks again and happy writing.

I don't know how you got all those pictures in but this story is beautifully constructed. You describe your setting very well, and I enjoyed the POV of your protagonist.

One thing I am concerned about is it's relationship to the prompt. Nobody has come a crumbling castle to the lonely man who happens to be a werewolf.

Therefore, as a stand-alone piece, but it doesn't follow the rules of the prompt closely enough.

Great story though.

Yes, a band of roving thieves came and cleaned him out, remember? That is his whole reason for going on the hunt in such brutal weather in the first place. Besides, the rules clearly don't state how long those who came had to be there, or how much an integral part of the plot they needed to be.

Thanks for your review, GabbyLew. I hope I've explained my position on the prompt thoroughly enough, and my reasons for why I've written it as I have. Rarely do I take the easy approach, to any prompt or challenge. Or anything else, for that matter. I prefer to be...different.

Yes. Thanks. I don't know how I missed that.

Simply excellent! You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. The way you described each little detail made me feel as if I was there. This story had a bit of a different feel than your other horror stories. It was as if you were writing a chapter for a fantasy novel that just happened to turn dark at the end. Nice twist by the way. The hunted becomes the hunter and fade to blood red. Great story.

Thanks a million, Michaelk, I really appreciate that! I wish there were more voters who felt as strongly about the story as you do, my friend. Ah well, there will be other prompts, I'm sure.

Thanks so much for your generous comments and rating.

A strong story that I enjoyed reading immensely. It felt both threatening and "teasing" at first . . a pack versus individual. You flipped that advantageously over: loved the ending!

I love the story. The man has chosen to live alone. He hides from humans and his own kind. He will kill his own kind if they come after him. I have a feeling he leaves humans mostly alone. Great work. Good luck in the contest.
