What a fun little story about how Sawyer wisely chose the extra three minions. They did the work while he searched for socks to "keep his tootsies warm." As always, your poem is a delight to read with its excellent rhyme and and a meter and a delightful story as the added bonus. My best to you in the contest, Brooke.

This is an engaging tale. King Sawyer certainly chose his three extra minions wisely since they saved they day. They rhythm is fun and so are the excellent rhymes. Love the alliteration in the repeating "million minions".

Figures, while the minions and three were working there tails off trying to defend the walls, good ol King Sawyer was worried about keeping his feet warm. Sheees...

Great cadence and flow. Easy to read and perfect for the youngsters.
Nicely done... John

Wow! Another great Sawyer tale - loved the photo. A great story in a poem - I wish you well in the contest. Good AABB rhyming and one day he will read this and have a belly-laugh.

Hi Brooke,

I'd say your last line identifes the advantage of being the ruller of the 'million three' - but remember that 'uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'.

Another fun poem for the Sawyer collection.

Patrick, thank you. Yes, the ending is meant to be social/political commentary with a satiric tone :-) Brooke

I think too many who rise to positions of power simply do not understand that great authority brings huge responsibility to those under your authority. As Jesus said, he who wishes to be the leader, must first be the servant. It is a hard lesson to learn, but the most effective leaders in history have recognised this.

FanStory has a policy that a review must be detailed and not simply something like: "Hey, I liked your poem." or "That was really good." They maintain that it should relate what you found engaging or what perhaps was lacking (if anything). I will simply say concerning this intriguing entry - "It's good to be the King"

Till the last amen

This is a cute little story poem about Sawyer and his sand castle. Children love making sand castles by the water my grand children liked doing that also. Great Story Grandma.

The favourite pastime of little boys and girls, building sandcastles, I guess kids have high aspirations too of being the king of the castle. Cute picture. Great story for kids in super rhyme, imagery and choice of words. Good luck in the contest. Faye
