Mornin' Nancy,
I can relate to this sensitive thought, and I think wounds heal because things change, giving the mind something new, in which to focus its attention. I suppose it's a blessing that the pain fades but the memory stays strong.
Thank you for sharing your insights into this subject. It was quite thought provoking to me... best wishes, Bill

Dear Nancy - loved the message in this work. Brings strength to areas where weakness may linger. Great images too push forth your wisdom.

This has happened to me recently while I was sick and I found it amazing that something that was so upsetting in the past didn't amount to a hill of beans now, in fact it proved to have worked out for the best. Thanks for the review Maureen. Nancy

Very thoughtful and reflective and it draws the reader in right away and we think and reflect as well. I always marvel at how you can write such long sentences so smoothly. This just flows so easily and always with perfect sense. Great skills. mikey

Hello Honeycomb, Great commentary -- thought provoking too. Of note:
Unpleasant lies that cut you deep and tore your world apart,
(HC, I don't know. I think that the hurt and pain from lies and betrayal never go away. The knife cuts as deep today as it did yesterday, and I'm speaking of almost 40 years of yesterdays. Perhaps fifty years is the ticket.)
Very good. Keepe the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Sometimes you look back and see that things happened for the best and all the turmoil is moot now. Life is a learning process. Wisdom accumulates slowly! LOL Thanks again Margaret! Nancy

Strong quatrains with good rhyme and meter.
Good imagery to illustrate the message.
It's true the past may come back to haunt us at times
but we will have grown in strength of character and faith
enough to handle it and let it go.
Beautiful presentation. Nancy

A good lesson contained within you poem. Stand in the doorway, look back one, close the door and move forward. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to obsessing over event gone by - can't change them, still we wonder why. Human nature is a challenge! Well done poet.

Nancy, good job on your rhyming quatrains. What
truth your words hold. Time does help heal wounds.
We just have to try to realize that tomorrow will
be better.

Wonderful message Nancy. I understand. Sometimes those "Forgotten Thoughts" resurface at the most inopportune times and can ruin a perfectly happy day if we let them. Well done.

I have learned to let things go as I age. Not everyone is interested in my opinion, although it is sage. LOL Most of the time it is ignored anyhow, why bother.Hugs. Nancy

Good poem, Nancy. I have no suggestions. Well done. I like your advice. Being hasty is not a good thing.
I've missed being here at fanstory and reading your writings.

Is everything okay? I have been off site for a month. I was sick. It's good to hear from you. Thanks for the review April! Hugs. Nancy
Sorry to hear you were sick, Nancy. Hope you are feeling better.
I've been off for a while, too. I can't find time to write and have very little time for reading.
It's good to hear from you, too.
My husband has been very sick. He was in the hospital a few weeks back. He is still having test done. I am praying that the cancer hasn't come back.
Hugs,
April
