A poetic image, but are not the horses being stampeded (chased) by the storm?? The titles seems to say the opposite. This nicely presents the correct number of syllables, but I would like to see fresher image than the oft used "echoes" for thunder, and a more unique presentation of horses in motion than "stampede".

excellent Lune, Starkat.
This is such a thrilling scene. One of my favourite pieces of art is a painting of horses running from a thunder and lightning storm. Congrats on your win!
Rose.

Hey starkat, this is a wonderful Lune, that conjures up images of the old west, the Grand canyon and wild horses, put them altogether and you have a wonderful competition entry, good luck Kat.

Thanks, Eric. So glad you enjoyed this lune and the imagery. I love the old west, one of my favorite places to visit and think about. I lived in Colorado for seven years and made lots of adventure trips to places where I saw many wild horses and canyons. Do appreciate all your comments. Cheers ... ;o) Kat

It is hard to imagine that we still have wild horses, and mules running free in America. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Thanks, Charlie. Appreciate your comments. Yes, still lots of wild horses running free. I especially see them in South Dakota and Wyoming. Glad you enjoyed this lune ... ;o)

Stunning artwork.
Your words and they way they were crafted so artfully parallel the artwork so beautifully.
You can almost feel them ride by you.
This is an incredible work.

Thanks, poetbear. So glad you enjoyed the artwork and word choices. I'm currently considering changing 'gallop' to 'stampede' as a more dynamic word. Appreciate your comments ...;o)

There's a lot of movement and sound in your lune poem, and the artwork you chose arrests the attention, I liked it. It's hard to get a lot of impact with such a short form and I thought you did it well. Giddy

Hi Starkat,

I really enjoyed reading your Lune poem. It is nicely written and the picture you chose to go with it is perfect. Both go well with the other.

This is a wonderfully executed Lune and a worthy contest entry. The line and syllable counts are spot on - the imagery exceptional. I wish you all the best in the judging and thank you so much for sharing this with me.
