What a magic image; it reminds me of William Blake's lines;
"We shall not cease from mental fight./Nor shall our swords rest in our hand/ Till we have built Jerusalem/ In England's green and pleasant land. Then there was the poet who wrote; "God's in his heaven./All is right with the world." And yet did not God make us guardian's of his universe. This was a covenant that God could not share with the dumb and defenseless of his creation. -Just a thought. Ekim777

As always your work is well written and expressive. Butterflies are wonderful graceful creatures and do seem to bring a bit of heaven to earth.

What a beautiful and whimsical fantasy of what might happen if heaven ever visited earth and in particular, if heaven ever visited you. I would probably just faint dead away figuring that they had come for me to take me away to some place uncomfortable. LOL. Great poem.

Hello adewpearl, Brooks, I enjoyed reading your poem and the imagery of a kaleidoscope of butterflies is just wonderful. I do love butterflies and sunflowers. Your poem flows silky smooth, and I could feel the wonder of it all. Of note:

If Heaven ever visits Earth

(I'll have to sleep on that one ...
'cause I want my wish to be special,
perhaps even grand. We don't get
that many chances in life to touch
Heaven, so I want it to be memorable.)

Smiles, LateBloomer

I can't tell you how much I love the photograph you chose to use with your newest poem. Good job on the poem, as well. I certainly do wander what it would be like if heaven would visit earth.

A lovely thought and beautiful vision expressed in this poem. Love the repeating lines so aptly used, so aptly named, so aptly described in a lovely poem.

Beautiful poetry of butterflies and kaleidoscopes! Reminds me of a dark room with one shining, brilliant light, like one beautiful thing surrounded by ugly things which makes it stand out. (A lot like the poem.):)

What a gorgeous art work. I didn't know butterflies were called Kaleidoscope. So I learned something from this poem. Your rhyming was so simple but strong. I've never tried a Quatrain--so I guess that's next on my list.

I didn't know that about butterflies but it is fitting. A kaleidoscope shows so many wonderful colors. I always learn from you and love your work. Great photo.
