I always saved my Six Stars for Pam, but your words here are powerful and true in my opinion. I was on various poetry sites with Pam for ten years, I never met her but I considered her a friend and mentor. She did so much to encourage me to continue writing even when I didn't think I would have in me anymore. We would talk for hours over the internet like two old friends. When writer's block was set in she would send me challenges, always removing the block for me. I am lost without her but will continue to write in her honour. Thank you for posting this and allowing us to share our stories.

That is my last six and I'm so glad I saved it.
To me you have defined the real meaning of friendship, that it caring for and about someone else. How good would this world be if every adopted this as their lifestyle.
Surely, Tom would have contact details for these missing persons.

There is a special bond that develops here on Fanstory, unlike regular friendships, I agree. I am missing Stephan Carter and his warm and wonderfully helpful reviews.
Maybe because we open our little hearts and true thoughts, then send them out, to see if others feel the same. And when they do, that special and unique bond develops. Cheers, judester

Thanks for sharing these grievous thoughts with us. You are absolutely right about these names you have talked about. The real world just keeps getting harsher by the day. A great combination in this story. Shared empathy. Nicely done.

Hi Michael,
It's good of you to mention Songbyrd, although I wasn't familiar with her work. Yes, a lot of people go missing from this site and it's so depressing how many folks have passed away. You wrote a wonderful and heartfelt essay.
Hugs,
Lou

Greetings michaelcahill,
I didn't know these people, but it is obvious they affected other people here a great deal.
I am with you. It is a difficult thing to put a piece out there and have strangers read it. To have like minded individuals encourage you by sharing what they like and dislike takes some thick skin.
Like many great writers, some are not appreciated fully until after their deaths. Hopefully these two writers will continue to inspire FanStory members for many years to come. Chrisfiore

i so agree with you. the poets on this forum become friends and you feel like close friends after a while. The deaths do affect me an Gungalo's has been the worst. she wrote so well and was a genuine reviewer to me. No indication of an illness makes it even worse. i notice that she submitted up to May 21st.
yours is a lovely tribute to her.

A lovely piece, Michael. As a community, we develop beautiful friendships that do last and leave us feeling the loss when one of them leaves the site unexpectedly, or is taken from us. I enjoyed this post from the heart. Thank you...Stephanie

Mikey, that was such an emotional piece of writing. I don't if it because of the deaths we have had recently, but I for one could not stop my tears. The final shock of Pam, (Gungalo) and Songbyrd, has hit me hard. They were such vibrant, full of live people, with passion about what they wrote and the kindness they shared with us. Lovi, now you have me worried about her, when I first read this tribute, I went quickly and sent her an e-mail, I will let you know if I hear back. You have writen a beautiful heartfelt prose here, it would be hard for anyone not to be affected by your words. :) Sandra
