This was an encouraging poem of rhyme & determination, to keep on & seemingly, never give up, even if by the picture, your a 'Lil guy, like Sawyer, you still can have plenty of high hopes & inspirations like you, his Grandma writes about. Maybe, even a future basketball star yet to be if that is his wish...

Hi. well, a timely Poem for me. Keep trying. Too many things going wrong. My dog cut here paw yesterday, blood everywhere. And this morning I open my Computer to find the News about Gungalo.

We loved this wonderful poem.
In its well crafted lays a message about life we should all heed.
If I am not well enough to do something today
I will do my very best to find another way
Best wishes and dreams

I really love the swaps in this. They all work so well. Very exuberant tone throughout, and very upbeat. You show us that if things don't turn as you hope, there's always another way. I like the examples you give, especially the one in the last stanza, "I'll practice all the more if I have lost the game." Lovely AABB rhyme in this. judi

A great poem of childish questions and answers. Another that reads like a nursery rhyme.
"If I can't swim the sea, I'll find myself a boat
that sails to distant shores while I am kept afloat.
If I'm in need of shade, I'll plant myself a tree --
I'll find myself a boat if I can't swim the sea...."
This stanza is particularly good. Pete

That my poetic friend is one of my favourite pieces you have posted.
I just love the rhyme formula, I love the repetition and assurance in each verse. it has a beautiful rhythmic canter that once you establish is easy to flow with.
It has perfect AABB rhyme and it can be perceived in many ways as an analogy to life and its challenges in all of us not just your grandson shooting a basket as portrayed in this photo.
It sums up determination, it sums up the tenacity never to give in or be defeated..it sums up an attitude!
thanks for sharing this beautiful poem Brooke

I just love this...love those wrapped refrains! First they ask 'if'...then they reinforce themselves, same question becomes the answer! This is also a very inspiring poem, in itself! Blessings tonight!
