Geez, I'm so far behind again! You've certainly mastered the swap quatrain ! Perfectly executed in structure, rhyme and meter (of course). It sings to me about the value of persistence in achieving your goals and keeping a positive attitude in life. Wonderful read, my friend.
All the best, Rodger

Roger, I just love the form and owe it all to you :-) Thank you! Brooke

Don't forget Lorraine Cangtor lol. Thank you! I thought I wrote one before and I found it in my portfolio from more than two years ago titled Moonglow. I'm working on two more but not yet ready for prime time LOL. :)

I don't remember what I ate for lunch yesterday or what I posted two years ago. LOL
Sometimes I enter one of those site-sponsored contests four months before the deadline, and when the judging comes around, I have to read my poem to see what the hell I entered :-)

LOL I believe you!

This is a very interesting poetry form. I see you've done a couple of poems in this form. You make it seem so easy to swap the wording--which I suspect it is not especially since you also have to take make it work in rhyme and meter. Another form for me to learn about. Thank you!

You're welcome. I don't get to the site every day so I have to play catch up sometimes.

Living is a life of alternatives, that denotes not giving up at any temporary setback. I enjoyed this work as you profer alternatives to every limitations. This carries the same message with my own poem 'No surrender' that I posted few hours ago. Good work

This poem is truly brilliant in its superb thematic concept and in its execution of the format requirements. Inspired by the antics of that precocious Sawyer, it blends his tenacity into a poetic lesson on resolution.

Love this poem very much Brooke. Nice message for a possitive view on life. There is a solution for almost everything.
Just change your view on things. Great flow, wonderful rhyme and a nice subject. Lovely. Fia

Swap quatrain is an interesting form and it is very ideal for the kind of inspirational poems that help to spread cheer. The reversing of order especially is delightful and gives special emphasis to the message intended. With Sawyers photo and your mastery this is a perfect inspirational poem.

I read Rodger's 'swap' poem the other day, and really enjoyed it. I'd not seen one before. So I was delighted to see another, Brooke!
I'm inspired after reading this! I like the feeling of determination you've created, and love the examples and rhymes you've chosen.
A very positive poem. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Brooke,
Thought provoking nice piece of poetry beautifully depicting the strength of killer instinct to succeed in life by keeping in mind 'where there is will, there is way'!
Simple, impressive and perfectly matching the theme wording.
Smooth and pleasant flow with lovely rhyming scheme and lively imagery.
"If I have lost the game, I'll practice all the more
to find another way to make the winning score."
Excellent!
