The flow and feel of your words fits the subject here, the reader can feel your words coming from a child who is very active. If life gives a call,I plan to heed it,is a line that should be a mantra for all of us adults.

Very up lifting. It's great to be that age where everything's an adventure, and seems as if Sawyer wants to experience it all. Wish I was that age again. Like this line: "If life is a drum, I'm gonna beat it. " Hope he keeps beating that drum. Well composed! Les

Upbeat philosophy, inspired by thoughts of a child. We could all bear in mind that life is how we make it. The choices are ours. Well chosen rhymes and words to convey your sincere message. Lovely photo for that adventurous wee boy. Enjoyable read, as always. Faye

Love the upbeat and positive view of life that this poem expresses. I do admire the adventurous, though I'm usually not among their number. With its repetitions, the poem itself is like a stirring drumbeat. Love, Jeanie

This is a cool format and also a rallying theme. The thrust seems to that if there is a challenge, it shall be answered. This would be a great internal mantra.

Thanks so much, James - that talent must have made you a real chick magnet as a teen :-) There is nothing sexier than a drummer ;-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
A poem with an exciting pace.
When my dad was a boy he belonged to a rival to the Boy Scouts called the Boy's Brigade. They wore Victorian army dress! Dad was the drummer in their marching band. He drove the neighbors nuts practicing in the garden shed.
Did Sawyer blow away like Mary Poppins?

Thanks so much, Ron - I never heard of the Boy Brigade, how cool.
Miranda tells me this is a very heavy umbrella, so I'm sure it had the opposite effect of keeping him grounded LOL :-) Brooke

Brooke: have you published a book yet? Your poetry is consistently flawless. You write about life's happy moments from nature to Sawyer. Just curious. And, ya'll better keep the car locked and the toaster and the radio and tv, etc. It looks like Sawyer is mechanically inclined and going to take apart everything! Linda

What an admirable philosophy on life.
Sadly we only get one chance at life so we need to grab it with both hands and lead the parade of life.
Make every moment a memory and every memory last.
As always a thoughtful and well written poem with a great message and presented well.

I wish I had a six to give you because once again you have created a masterpiece. I enjoy how your poems are always so encouraging. Your writing helps take the edge off of my cynical musings. Have a good day.
