Hi, DW.

A very thought-provoking question you've asked in this short poem. Ancestors' sacrifices and legendary tales must be embraced by the successors.

This could have been a very nice Naani poem, but it has syllable restrictions, but it also has four lines.

Excellent use if D,R,N consonance throughout. I like its explicit nature very much. Artwork resonates with the theme as well.

Nicely done! :)

Regards,
Anupam

This could end up as one of those motivational posters one may see in a corporate office or school environment. It's food for thought as we perform our mundane tasks day to day.

Good message here. and I'd like to think that my life story even though there is a lot of adventure there is also the turning point of becoming disability with chronic back and neck pain and a bit more that I don't need to get into. But I like to think that some of my poetry will be saved by my daughter and passed down, if she can to her family to be. It would be nice to write enough poetry that I feel would be suffice to print, then the world would have a bit of me.

lulube good pondering words

    To all unwritten things
that are passed by voice throughout the evolution of time
never to be written in books or carved on stone
will this generation pass the secrets of our forefathers forward
to be carried over to their sons?

    Thanks Gary

I think those days for the general public won't remember an elder's voice but will remember someone singing or trying to sing on the internet.

If no pride was taken in the achievements
Of our ancestors,
Will your achievements be worthy
To be remembered by your descendants?

Extremely thought-provoking. We need to strive to be worthy of our descendants and our ancestors.
Excellent.

This poem is deeply moving and so very true. Who will remember us in 100 years? And for what reasons? Will it be achievements, perhaps wisdom, kindness to mankind? Your message of taking pride is a good one.
Nicely done, Carolyn

A provocative inquiry that is deserving of evaluation. Looking back with careful reflection and consideration affords us the proper perspective as we journey forward. Well done.

This...puzzled me, though it does pose an interesting question. Perhaps the entertainment value is present in the pondering of the enthusiastic reader, and their need for understanding :)

That is a very interesting question you raise in your philosophical poem. I guess it's a sort of karma thing.
I really like the fact that the second and last lines end with the relationship words, ancestors and descendants.

I think you made a great point here. As a lover of history, I have always been impressed with inovators and visionaries. To manybelieve that everything of worth began in their own lifetime. Great write--Ted
