The enjambment conveys a sense of curiousity , a stream -of-consciousness technique, in a world where wonders abound - great pic

I sometimes think that children are angels who later become earthbound when they mature. They are used to being around someone who has all the answers, and are surprised when you do not. Lovely poem. Best wishes.

I haven't yet learned why skies are blue
(reflection of the ocean )
or where the waves are rolling to,
(where ever the moon takes them )
but somebody thinks I ought to know,
and everyone says, "I told you so."
Nobody's shared why rivers bend
(Ground Rocks are in the way)
or where I'll find the rainbow's end,
( still looking my self )
or where a falling star might go,
( He went to you... you know, the pictures you chose)
but somebody thinks I ought to know.
lols...
needed the laugh.

Comment from The Death
Hi, Brooke.
Whimsical and cute! It is full of those innocent thoughts and questions which may pop up in any child's mind.
The opening lines are lovely:
Somebody thinks I ought to know
why bubbles burst and breezes blow,
but nobody seems to want to tell
what somebody claims to know so well.
The last line made me chuckle. It slightly hints at the tendency of parents to expect too much from their kids. Excellent alliteration of B and consonance of S sounds.
The refrain line is very effective in highlighting the message. You've made excellent use of vivid images which children found fascinating.
Excellent rhyming and consistent rhythm make it an enjoyable read. It creates such a cheerful mood.
Regards,
Anupam

Great poem capturing the never ending questions from children. The endless "why's" are most often humorous, sometimes tedious! Sawyer is a really cute kid. I'm sure he is the apple of your eye.

Brooke - another lovely poem for Sawyer. You know you must be the lead angel and explain to him the greatness of God that answers all he will ever question.
Very nice. AT=/

This is very cute. I get this, as a mother. I get this as child care provider. All the whys? In a child's life is amazing and we should learn from them.
