This poem really would make me feel good if I knew that someone put so much value in my face. This will be warmly received.

An interesting way of responding to Armageddon or something like it. I think a child would understand what you're trying to say to him because of the commonplace things he can relate to like roses, sun, stars, and clocks.
Also, this becomes a lovely love poem, too, as a result of your final stanza.
A lovely poem to share on a Sunday morn, Brooke.
Rod

This is yet another beautiful poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. I am on holiday so I will be reviewing selected pieces of writing. I don't want to spend my holiday on FanStory, but I want to keep in touch.

I loved the photo's most. But your poem is a nice form and very up -to -date. About one of nature's disasters: droughts. All will increase they say.

A gorgeous poem that flows freely from the lips and the page, I am assuming this was written about the lovely little boy above, if not it should have been!

This is iambic meter, right? It flows beautifully What do you call your rhyming scheme:Land and dawn do not rhyme but sea and me rhyme. Second stanza boom and resume rhyme but night and hours do not
Third stanza fate and joy do not rhyme but revile and smile do . What is that rhyming called?
The meaning of the poem is beautiful and its sentiments are very special. wonderful poem.

Sonja, thank you, my friend. Yes, it is iambic meter. The rhyme scheme is called abcb rhyming, where only the second and fourth lines rhyme. Brooke :-)

So very nice, Brooke! I know that you are referring to Sawyer and yet we all feel that a smile from someone can make a difference in our day (or life, for that matter). Your rhyming is perfect :) Thanks for sharing yet another uplifting message! Alana

Simply graceful. He must be the most photographed little boy in his sand box club. You always put things in perspective for and remind us of what is truly important. Well done.

A lovely poem in perfect meter and a great way of saying that no matter what may happen, you wont bemoan the situation because you had 'his' smile. A lovely tribute poem. Regards Dorothy
