Hi Steve,

Nicely written, heartfelt, love that is tried and true doesn't have to hormones and electricity in the air. It is steadfast, and can be savored.

Good luck in the contest.

Cheers & Keep Smilin'... Jax

strong rhymes in good English sonnet pattern
excellent use of steady iambic meter and enjambment
effective repetition of lines in good pantoum format - I like the way is passion turns into a question in its repeat performance
good alliteration in dazzles/dies and fine flame
beautiful imagery to convey this thoughtful declaration of love in fine pantoum sonnet form :-) Brooke

I suppose the Pantoum Sonnet Contest deadline is drawing to a close as this will be my sixth poem read today in this format.

Odd how so many of you wait until the closing moments to write your contest entries. Hell, I have to begin weeks, sometimes months in advance, so it can be tweaked, edited and reedited based on reviews. It must be nice to have such talent and confidence.

That being said, this entry is a well written poetic proclamation of perfect love and a flame for passion that can never be extinguished.

Well done and best of luck in the contest, Steve.

    Thanks, Dean.

I may well be the antithesis of your approach - I often scrawl something just in time to make a deadline. In this case I had to be reminded that the deadline was upon me.

Fortunately, I had started on a piece of scrap paper somewhere, so once I had located that I was able to wrangle it into shape.

You make it hard for the other contestants Steve, with such a fine entry. Your creation here has a fine sophistication not commonly seen either here or in published works. As always... I find this a pleasure to read. Well done, my friend. Giddy

Thanks, Giddy - it may be more the other way around - they make it hard for me - as you can see by visiting the booth...

Steve, I truly enjoyed reading your pantoum sonnet and had a lot of meaning into it and as a poet I really enjoyed reading it sincerely. It's a great home at describing a Polish sincere feelings and thoughts. Good luck in the contest because I consider this an exceptional entry. It's rhyming is neither forced nor labored while the rhythm flows smoothly throughout your poem. Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone and may all your endeavors be good ones.

When poets write of love that's like a storm
beyond control, a raging fire that sears,
I treasure our fine flame that's safe and warm
yet glows more brightly through the passing years.

I so much enjoyed this strong phrases. The rhyming is fantastic, it gives a huge boost to your poem. Each word said here is so true and one should read your poem more then once. I enjoyed it so much, and the picture joins so much the words in that poem. Good luck, well done. Hugs Terry xoxo
My six star from Montreal will shine above you. xoxo

Steve, you've struck a certain chord with me. I have an issue with 'poetic grandiousity', and I appreciate a true poet pointing it out.
Some sunsets are so-so.
Some beauties are less-so in the morning.
Some loves are lusty illusions.

Glad you have your head on straight, my friend.

Peace, Lee

Thanks, lee - first to review, last to get thanked.

Yes, of course poets are bullshitters of the highest order (not like those ever so truthful story-writers!) and I don't mind reminding myself and others of that fact from time to time.
