But otherwise a good capture of a feeling of releif when returning home to safety after staring death in the face.

I can just imaging how amazing it must have felt to be in a life threatening situation and come out the other end alive. And to see the "cliffs of Dover" must have been amazingly wonderful.

I often think how hard it must be on these men/women in the forces, who have spent so long away from home, to settle back into family life. So many suffer from wounds that don't show.

There no place like home or Friendly territory when returning from war. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read.

Your poem has a great sentiment. But your last line should be you're home and not your home. I like the photo you used to represent your poem. Nice!
