Wow! This is so creative and with such colorful and sweet words, Brooke! I love ladybugs, and here you are managing to make the subject more special. I loved this: "for who can choose a single one when spots aplenty catch the sun?" At times when I review your work, it feels like reading you for the first time all over again. Like seeing it with the same sense of awe as the first time. Now, please, allow me. You know what a pain in the neck I am, so...a bit of the so common harassment, if I may. If you've made it here for such a long time already, imagine what you'll do in the big pond. Fight all you want, but you WILL take off. And soon. Mark my words and save an autograph for a longtime fan, please. Love your work, coach! :)

Good quatrain story of a lady bug and her several dots :) We had a non-rainy day yesterday and a crazy looking bug landed near me. I named him Herman and vowed to like his non-lovely looks :) Bugs need love too!!?

Dear Brooke - I think kids would love this poem. Mine were always fascinated with lady bugs too. Lovely imagery, easy words to read for them and leaves a smile.... Till I remember those orange lady bugs with less dots and they bite - ouch.
Thanks for sharing.

D is for dots. This is a brilliant use of repetition, a device that children enjoy. I can visualize this as part of an alphabet book. The photo is a superb study of the bug too.

The great close up picture of the Ladybug provides great imagery for us as we read about the ladybug of several dots.
Then your descriptive words take us on her journey as she "ambles" along searching for just the right "spot" in the sun. Nice job, Brooke. 8-)

I don't think that I reviewed this one, yet. Ladybugs are my favorite bugs. Your poem describes their adventures in such fantastically descriptive language. And I do believe that they are good luck!

Adewpearl: Great, terrific descriptions of the ladybug's favorite spots to relax. I like how the poem goes down from line to line. I like how you repeated sun, ambled and spots. I learn a lot from your writings.
