This quatern is ambitious, and filled with imagination. Many wonderful, though nonsensical things are written about the royal ladybug, no exception here. I love it. Kenny

The ladybird, or ladybug as you Americans call them, appears to have dandruff, from the white speckles on the floor, Brooke.
This hot dotty tot has lots of dots, not spots.
VERY cute and entertaining read.
It all flows perfectly with unforced rhymes, but my fave line, for cleverness and alliteration is:
'she'd savor all the sun allots' - even though you Yanks can't spell 'savour', properly. :-)
Excellent.
Best wishes, Ray

Ray, sorry about the whole American spelling thing, but in favor of our side, I think ladybug is a much cuter name - ladybird sounds too elegant while these little critters are cuter than a button, not elegant. Not to mention the fact they're bugs and not birds! LOL I thank you for your lovely review, my friend. :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
A wandering lady bug sunbathing, or hunting her dinner I wonder. Nice little poem, it reads very nicely, as yours always do.

You know I have to tell a story, about ladybugs. So much for the review. WELL!!! My husband, Brian, since he retired has been gardening and canning. This man couldn't cook a lick all the hundreds of years we've been married but now he cans. Besides that, he's struggled growing things in TX the heat gets to them and the veggies aren't too fond of heat. Now to the part about the ladybugs. He decided he had problems with aphids eating this plants, so he went on the Internet to find out how to get rid of aphids. He ended up going on a druggie site, the only one that addressed aphids. They said to get ladybugs and they would eat the aphids. So this grown man was searching our yard for ladybugs to put on his veggies. I felt sorry for him and bought him 4500 ladybugs. He had so many he couldn't decided on which plants to put them. LOL

Yes, I knew they sell the little aphid-eating critters. LOL
Love the transformation in your hubby - who says men can't mellow as they age? LOL Thanks so much for sharing, Barbara :-)

He has, actually I think my having breast cancer made a huge transformation in him. I am thinking about getting him some praying manthesis. Not sure how to spell it and spell check is no help.

I was seeing spots (or was it dots?) by the time I finished this darling poem! Your rhyming and alliteration are just wonderful. Once again, you've outdone yourself, Brooke. I so look forward to each new poem. Thank you for sharing. Alana

How could anyone not love a ladybug? They are such beautiful and gentle creatures. They are so helpful in the garden too...they eat the aphids like candy. Lovely poem, marvelous repeating line, and flows so gently just like the ladybug does.

I love ladybugs. This is a wonderful poem. The repeating line gives it a whimsical feel, and the rhythm and pacing create an ambling feel, the ladybug just where she goes. They are great to have in garden. I haven't seen any this year yet, but the humble ladybug is on my list of pictures to take. I'll capture one in my lens. Nie imagery, describes perfectly the summertime. Love it!!!!

A cheery and playful poem that keeps the minds of little one intuitive to what happens next to such a decorative and inquisitive bug.
Many nice enjambments with a smooth cadence to your stanzas.
