Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Well put together I could fell Ess's anger and follow the flow of the story with ease. You need to remove one or They could have killed or him or worse. Keep writing

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Ess is such a hard ass, giving poor Shades a scolding over putting wine in her fridge. LOL! Shades seems to love the abuse. Go figure!

"You're not moving in." I'm still killing myself laughing. Caught me by surprise. So quick! LOL!

"When I get bored of you I'm throwing you away and getting a new one." OMG! I said pretty much the same thing when my late husband suggested I move in with him, so many years ago. "My relationships don't last," I told him. "I don't want to feel all guilty when it's over."

He said: "Oh, what makes you so sure you'll tire of me before I get tired of you?"

That clinched it for me. I figured he'd be able to take care of himself emotionally and he was my hero for more than 20 years. Fun memories, snod!

Ess is a tigress when someone threates her man. Even the fairies respected that level of rage. Well done, snod. Very entertaining chapter.

Sadly Er Indoors figured out right from the start who has the better end of the bargain.

I think what makes it work for this couple is that they both want someone they can push against, which makes them stronger and more vulnerable at the same time. Would Ess have been able to resist the fairies if Shades had not been in danger? But if they'd hurt him, how would she have been able to deal with the loss?

I loved those little short stories you told about Jacqui. I probably misspelled her name. I hope she's well. I remember she had a spell of bad health a while back. I miss hearing about her.

Whatever makes it work for Shades and Ess, it sure is an entertaining relationship. Lots of spice and sharp corners. I love it.
