Love the alliteration. 'J' is actually my favourite letter. My mum was Joan, my husband was Jacques, my son is John.
Very upbeat, Brooke. One cannot help but smile when reading it. I also have to mention 'couldn't care less'. Yay!
One of my pet peeves is when I hear 'could care less'. :)

Hi Brooke,
A little different type of poem than we're used to reading from you, I love it! It's very musical and fun as you create a very smooth read with the use of some wonderful shortened words. I wonder if Nora knows how to jitterbug? LOL

Rodger, thank you so much. I don't think she can jitterbug - her only dance classes have been ballet, and Miranda doesn't know the jitterbug, she has hasn't taught her for sure. LOL And I cannot begin to picture either of her parents doing it. LOL Brooke

How I've missed your positive upbeat poems while I've been away! Excellent use of alliteration in jivin/joy/jiggles, jammin/jazz, and just/jiggle. The photo accompanying this piece is perfectly suited because children always seem to find joy in life. The rhythmic pattern created from the aa,bb, rhyming scheme creates a cohesive unit from this poem. The pace of this poem appears to keep time with the rhythm heard in the child's mind and creates a clear mental image of a child "marching to the beat of her own drummer". The image of a child giving herself to the rhythm heard within her head and allowing her body to respond to it is so freeing! This poem captures the reader from the very start, drawing them in to this imaginary word. I love the positive outlook behind this piece and the rhythmic manner of the poem's delivery are much like a melody in how they are presented.

This one makes your toes tap in the reading. I admit, I have a little trouble imaging you cutting loose and "jiggling and jiving", but that must be part of your multifaceted character. This is a delightful read and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Great little thought of moving to the beat of life. Although, the last time I went out jivin' and jammin', I pulled something... Looks like I'm consigned to chair dancing these days. Loved the line, "...if anyone minds, I couldn't care less". I like that idea - march to the beat of your own drummer. Another fine post, my friend, best wishes, Bill
