A very nice, poetic way of saying every journey starts with a single step. Big things are made out of small efforts, long trips are started with a one step, millions of raindrops make a river.

This makes you stop and think because you are so right but I've never heard it put like this before. You did a great job friend :)

Where ever we go in our life it takes all kinds of steps that makes up our jouerny. Then the jouerny makes up the memories we share in our life.

A Step is not a journey.
I really like the image of the step to a journey and the rain drop to the sea. I noticed that you are writing a quatrain with abcb rhyme, but all the lines are 7 syllables except for the "might fade from memory" which is 6 and is missing the word to rhyme with sea. Maybe try "flee or flees."
We all have beginnings, we need to start, do something, write, etc. to move on our journey of life. I really like your poem and the punch of thought at the ending. Great inspiration. flylikeaneagle

And each year those little footsteps will grow bigger and bigger. Then the journey of the man can be measured against what he has become.
The step that starts a journey might fade from memory.
Wonderful line,
:-) Carolyn

Excellent meter and rhyme
throughout this thoughtful piece.
Sawyer seems not to miss a step in
his journey through childhood. He has had
so many wonderful experiences which will prepare
him for what lies ahead. Nancy

So true Brooke. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If we believe in ourselves and our God given talents and abilities, and yet we allow them to languish on the shelf collecting cosmic dust, we have done a great disservice to not only ourselves, but to all who might have benefited from it.
Well done...

A step is not a journey,
but still it is required.
No dream is ever realized
until it is aspired.
The step that starts a journey
might fade from memory,
just like a single raindrop
that helped to FILL the sea,
but if there were no rain drops,
the seas would turn to sand,
and if there were no footsteps,
no JOURNEY COULD BE PLANNED Used 'journey' in line 1
A steady 7676 with a abcb meter makes for a smooth read. Suggestions only.

HAHAHAHA - well, it might not be the moon, but it's still a precious step, and this precious poem immortalizes it - what a collection this child will have to show HIS kids!
As always, CHARMED!!!

Thank you so much, Dawn - I wonder what a toddler thinks of the ocean, just the sheer size of it. Brooke :-)
