How wonderfully true this poem is. We each have what we believe to be limitations in our lives, but sometimes, like the caterpillar's cocoon, we find that the thing we thought was imprisoning us was helping to give us wings.

Another great poem. I love the the last three stanzas. If I had to pick my favorite I might pick the last for its beautiful picture of friendship and how a good friend can brighten your day, and yet I love the visual of the polliwog changing to a frog and the whole new world that awaits him. And then there is the stanza about the raindrop that is so full of hope and such a beautiful picture of possibilities.

Love how you take this from the large world of nature into the smaller world of men. This is a good message to remind others to visit those who have no family anymore.

Life is full of surprises. No doubt in that. I like that you turn ordinary creatures in to magical moments. Love the end line in each stanza. Great theme and wonderful images. Nicely done. Loved the photo.

A beautiful poem about the lovely things that happen in summer, days at the beach, picnics in the parks! I love this upbeat, optimistic, articulately composed work Brooke! I like the repeated last line which maintains the theme, I enjoyed this jaunt! Blessings, Roy.

Gee whiz! I have given all my sixes away again already! Brooke, this is precious! I LOVE it! What a fabulous view you have of the world, my friend, and what a joy it is to read it in your amazing poetry! Thank you for sharing such wonder. You are, without a doubt, the most wonderful poet!

Dawn, thank you :-) You're a softer touch than I am, giving them all away before Sunday ends. LOL Brooke

I am, I confess, weak, weak, WEAK!!! But there are so MANY wonderful writers...(whine)...WHY CAN'T WE HAVE MORE SIXES, Tom? (Shouldn't it depend on how much reviewing one does? Puleeeeeeeze?)
LOL. xxxooo
-
I have been arguing it should depend on how much we review for years - there are people here who only review ten posts in a week - for them 6 stars is 60% of the posts they read - why should they get the same number of sixes those of us who review a whole lot get?

YAY, YAY!!! TRUE!!! If it were based on percentages it would be a LOT MORE FAIR!

Brooke: another lovely poem. And, you are so right. . .surprises do happen and can completely change the direction of your day or even your life. Another beautiful picture of that boy, Sawyer. He always looks so happy when he is near his daddy! Andy must be a great dad. Linda

Actually, the poem was a surprise in itself. The picture is a beautiful beach scene, and Sawyer is obviously having a delightful surprise at seeing his father covered up by sand. A lovely poem full of surprises, Brooke, Giddy

Poor Andy! I really enjoyed your quatrains, using a living creature or natural event to start your quatrain was a good way of explaining how much we need these happenings and humans do look for our love and care to turn up at the front door - no man is an island. Well done nana.
