This is classic like it was written long ago and you've taken it from a text book as an example of how to write one of these. That last stanza is so uplifting. Perfection. mikey

Oh yes, Brooke, surprises do happen everyday. All I have to do is look out of my windows and see the many beautiful colors of birds, the rabbits that run so fast, the groundhogs that peak out at times, the coyotes that I stay away from, and so many others living at the dead end. It's like country with only one neighbor next door. What wonders for a child to see and absorb. Such a wonderful write, as always. . .Sharon

Oh yes, Brooke, surprises do happen everyday. All I have to do is look out of my windows and see the many beautiful colors of birds, the rabbits that run so fast, the groundhogs that peak out at times, the coyotes that I stay away from, and so many others living at the dead end.
