Thankfully she had Pierce Brosnan to make her sound like a better singer. I can't tell from your review whether you liked the movie or not, but I guess it's hard to get every idea across when your syllable count is so limited. Good luck and keep writing.

A great actress does not always become a great singer.
But whether she falls flat or not as a singer does not affect her caliber as an actress. That she can act but not sing can still make ABBA proud.
It does not spell her WATERLOO.

I liked the stage musical much more tan the movie. Your last line rings true,not a great voice for Meryl Streep. Exellent use of words and bes wishes for the contest.

Yes you summed this movie up perfectly.....I think it was my most disappointing movie....if they had chosen a singer to play her part .....Abba must have laughed all the way to the bank...

Hello author, A fun 5-7-5 poem and movie review. Yes, Meryl did fall flat as a singer in Mama Mia, but she did something brave, and that's why she is not only a great actress, but a great person. She has publicly laughed about her own singing or lack of singing ability. Her laughter enhances her beauty and exudes self-confidence.
Only Meryl can sing in B-Flat and still be a winner!
