I like the serious "gum-shoe-style tone, in the search for a fairy. Makes me grin as I'm reading it. So serious, which makes it so amusing!

And Ess is up against that time clock - having to report back to Daisy's scary father. Still reading and grinning, snod. Good stuff!

Thanks. Yes, I think the fairy element might be putting people off, but I can see what you mean about the modern fairy image and the gumshoe approach. I'll have to bring Oz back in soon to lighten it up

Ess' mind works hard and fast. I wish I could think that fast under pressure. I believe this is the first chapter of this story I have read. The work is well written and I liked the characters presented. Ess has mental strength and is controlled. Whitmarsh has just enough an aura of sliminess to make him a good Politian/Politian's assistant. An enjoyable read.
