This is angelically divine LOL ... could not resist. You have taken the meaning of the word and made it into something magical. This is a stunning acrostic and I am truly amazed at the depth and beauty of each word selected. Maybe I can grow up to be like you and in the meantime simply be thankful that I can share such inspired verse with you.

Compromise on just about anything and generally you end up with a half assed result. There may always be someone who is better than you, but strive to be the best you can. No one can be a better you than you. Great poem, which by the way I may take to my son's basketball team. They work hard, but lately a few have decided they don't need to practice any more. Thankfully, my boy ain't one of them. Great poem and great advice.

This must have a real chance in this contest Dean, a good acrostic poem, and you've managed to throw in sometimes thyme,a really good articulation in this! I like the notes which makes poetic narrative to contain power in the work! Well done, blessings, Roy.

Very true words, Dean. It all comes down to honor. I like choice of the word for this, and definitions and wisdom given in each line. I can see you teaching this to group of young people. Well ddone.

Dean you nailed it...this reminds me of Rudyard Kipling's poem ...If.
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Perseverance ....you will be a Man my son...
