This an excellent work. You have done it all. You have told a great story through poetry in a way that holds the reader spellbound. I love your art work. As a history buff I can say that work captures the time accurately in a powerful way. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Very ad but true. Thank God Veterans are treated with more tenderness and dignity. My son came back from Afghanistan and was quieter and told me little more than "It's something that really can't be described." I knew better than to press. He is a medic and saw all kinds of things. Great poem and very dramatic.

Thanks Dean for the tribute to all the soldiers that went through this hell in Vietnam. I spent two years in that part of the world in the mid sixties. I never spent any time in battle or else I probably wouldn't be writing this right now. I lost several friends in that crazy-ass war. Even a few that lived close to me in the states. Congratulations on the win, you deserved it. Bill

You really deserved to be a winner my friend, the pictures speak volumes about how war can break a human soul. The demons of war are working hard into the brains and hearts of broken soldiers as they hear familiar echoes of agony and cry of the fallen, and the twisted bodies of the dead. Every soldier is a casualty of war and often times the soldiers remain broken even after the war. Bravo my friend, simply exceptional.

They say a picture paints thousand words, but your words paints a thousand pictures. Ones of sadness, maimed, young innocent lives taken, young men's minds destroyed, never to be normal again. A necessarily shocking narration by a Vietnam Vet, Dean, to explain the horrors of any war, especially Vietnam, and the lifelong scars it leaves in the minds of those poor souls who were there and witnessed the losses of friends and the general horror, and sometimes necessity to kill or be killed. IF THAT EXPERIENCE DIDN'T CHANGE A PERSON, THEN THEY'D BE MADE OF WOOD.
sHOCKING BUT UNDERSTANDABLE SUICIDE STATS OF THAT AGE GROUP. Sorry, capslock.
