Dean,
Let me try. Blackbirds flying across the sky can mean change; if the dream leaves you nervous it could be a negative change, if it leaves you happy, it could mean a positive one. And a bird on the windowsill could mean death. When I say death, it could mean a death of a habit or a friendship. Maybe you were foretelling your leaving here. Perhaps you were already thinking of venturing out on your own to publish (In Native American it means the transition was just beginning). I just read that raven energy is a very powerful amulet of success -- :P And because this may be dramatic for you, you do have the raven leading you! It also can mean to clean house -- maybe something is bothering you? Maybe there is someone in your life who is doing harm to you? Time to clean them out of your life. Don't tell secrets! Okay, I'll just leave the URL: https://whatismyspiritanimal.com/spirit-totem-power-animal-meanings/birds/raven-symbolism-meaning/#RavenSymbolism

Dean,
Good luck to you. I think you have good things coming your way. Just remember the Great Spirit is with you. Raven magic is good magic. :D

This is a artistic, frightening, imaginative piece of work. It's style touches on Poe's The Raven. I'm not adapt at interpreting dreams ,but I believe this dream is about something difficult or uncomfortable you've recently gone through. The dove represents your success with getting over it or accomplishing it, whether big or small. That's my two cents.

Hello Dean,
I don't share this often, but I was a theology major in college...Northwest Nazarene College, to be precise. If you study the book of Revelation, the fifth verse of chapter six, states there came a black horse; "...and he that sat upon him had a pair of balances in his hand." Interpretations vary as to the meanings of "a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measure of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine." The wheat and barely are of the earth, and the oil and wine may be considered to be of the Holy. It may depend on the Faith in which you are associated.
Personally, I think we could be in the stage of the horse which came before the black. For, "the red horse had the power to take peace from the earth, so they should kill one another...and, the fourth pale horse is Death, who is given the power to kill with weaponry, hunger, and the beasts of the earth." Actually, either of those two horses could be in control at this moment in time, since all of those events seem to be taking place. The problem is, there are so many prophecies that are yet to come to pass before the seals are broken or the horses released. And, a bit off your subject... The last chapter of Revelation has been misinterpreted by many pastors. The statement in Chap 22 v 19 says that, "...if any man shall take away from this book...God shall take his name out of the book of life". Many pastors include the whole Bible in that statement, but John had no idea that the Bible would ever be constructed by Constantine in the future. So that statement is either meant solely for his Book, or it has been added after the fact. Just some food for thought. I don't want to become a stumbling block before your faith, lol.
Not to make lite of your dream, but you haven't watched any Hitchcock lately, have you? Sorry, that was uncalled for...
You may have had a vision of future events about to unfold, and if that's the case...Woe for the future of man, "For the great day of his wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?" Good luck with the processing of your dream, my friend, they can be quite unnerving at the time...my best wishes, Bill

Hah ha, thank you, Bill, and no offense taken, my friend. I have a rather thick skin, seasoned over a hard lifetime.

I've studied the Book of Revelations quite extensively, but simply from a layman's perspective. We currently go to Sardinia Church of the Nazarene, about ten minutes from our home, but I was raised Southern Baptist. I adore our pastor, Dr. Richey Pride. He's a very good man, and a learned man of God, for certain!

The thing that scared me worst about the dream was the cold, black, uncaring eyes of that lone white dove as it glared at me, devoid of any compassion whatsoever. It was almost as if it were saying -- non-verbally, of course -- that all peace had died.

Small world, as my uncle was a Southern Baptist Minister for forty-five years. Interesting thought about the dove, as that symbol is usually associated with Christ, although, in the content of your dream, may make sense in the end...and, if peace isn't dead already, it appears to be on its last legs. I think Tolkien may have had the right idea. What this country needs, is an invasion of dragons, just to stir things up a bit, and create some new perspective. (Of course, I don't mean the dragon from Revelations, Lol!) I'm glad you have a good pastor in which to sound your thoughts. Hey! I hope you have a great day, later, Bill

I don't know the interpretation, but it me it felt like the narrow avoidance of an apocalyptic event. Or maybe a premonition of what is soon to come. At any rate, the poetry was exceptional. Very moving. Astounding graphics.

Thank you very much, Mr. 'T', I truly appreciate that. The dream was probably brought on by all of the research I've been doing lately for my newest story, The Chronos Bug. I've read and seen some horrible things. I'm very grateful for your kind comments, my friend.

Dean, this is certainly a bazaar one indeed. The vivid mental imagery that you create with your words do not need a picture. Unique and creative. :0 GracieAnn

Thank you, GracieAnn, I truly appreciate your kind comments. It was very hard for me to even find images close to recreating what I'd felt after that dream, but I did my best. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the poem, my friend.

I wouldn't play around trying to obtain amateur interpretations. Who knows? After watching things on t v like criminal minds or Hannibal, and have a weird dream, I attribute it to the visual horror that I absorbed. Maybe the dream was to spark the poem, which is very scary. the visuals are excellent. Probably shouldn't have read this right before going to bed.

Thanks, DALLAS, and you're probably right. All the research I've been doing for my apocalyptic tale, The Chronos Bug, probably just all caught up with me, I guess. Still, it was scary as all get out!

    Thanks for the great review!

This was all a dream, you say?
Wow. My dreams are never that vivid.
This poem picked out several important themes. Dying and the fading of the light seem to be a big one throughout the piece. Death, in any vision or dream, is not actually death, but a sudden change. It could be either good or bad, but is always something hard to do.
This goes right along with the dead dove. A dove represents purity (literally or of purpose) and peace. An expired dove could mean you are about to go through something that may be an upheaval, but doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing.
Change, I believe is what all of this means. Most people see this as a difficult, if not impossible thing, but it isn't concrete on how hard it will be. The death of one cycle of life and the beginning of a new thing can be either joyous or heartbreaking.
Hope this helps. I'm curious as to what, if anything, anyone else has said about it.
-T.J.

Thanks so much, TJ, and my dreams are usually forgotten as soon as I wake up. But, this one...this one woke me up! I started jotting down notes right away, so I wouldn't forget it. The thing that stood out most were the black, cold eyes of that dove, against its white body of feathers. That's the image that actually caused me to awaken with such a horrible feeling in my gut. Scared the hell outta me! But, you're probably right. All the research on biological weapons I have been doing lately, and all of the ghastly photos I have viewed for my story, The Chronos Bug just caught up with me, I guess.

Thanks for the awesome review and interpretations, my friend. Most people have said pretty much the same thing. It's probably more about change than actual death, and I hate change so!

The animations are clever although disturbing and in the minds eye I can see why you were upset with what you saw. Perhaps the man was one of the horsemen of the Apocolypse, perhaps pestilence even death. You deal with the black side of life in the real world so the dreams are understandable. The dove is a symbol of peace and may have answered the end of your dream with a positive note - yet the nature of the dream might foresee the end of man. You are a spiritual person and sense the realities of dreams. They leave question darkness, light or something in between.

Thanks so much for your review and indepth analysis, Alan. I like to think the dream ended positively. However, the way in which the dove looked at me -- so cold, and without compassion -- scared more more than anything else in it.

Awesome work, as usual. The white dove is an antithesis to the black crows.

I don't know, but have you been thinking about the apocalypse, lately? It seems the end of the world might be troubling you, the flocks of black birds signifying the End of Days. The white dove on a Sunday morning is the promise of another chance to redeem oneself, to visit the Lord in His temple--the church. Let us not forget that it was a white dove that brought the olive branch to Noah.It signifies God's promise that He will never deliver catastrophy of such a scale to man again.

Have no fear, my friend, for the End is far, and Jesus said many, many years will pass and cataclismic events before the end.

This is my humble interpretation of your dream.

And what a brilliant interpretation it was, Alex! I'd forgotten about the dove and the olive branch during the great flood in the Bible. Perhaps it was a sign of hope. It just looked at me so coldly, that scared me more than anything else in the dream!

Thanks so much for your comments, my friend.

This is a frightening dream...and just a dream. I believe dreams are the result of the weight of our lives and can only be released in our dreams. The meaning is not always what we think as dreams can be convoluted with dynamic imagery and confusing interpretation. You just probably had a bad day/week and needed a release. I do love the comparison of the black birds and the dove. Excellent work with this and you did a superb job conveying the fear and confusion of this dream. Personally, I wouldn't spent too much time worrying about its meaning, tomorrow's dream is yet to come.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Smurphgirl, I really appreciate that! You're probably right, I have been doing a great deal of research for my apocalyptic story, The Chronos Bug lately.

My dreams don't usually stay with me, not even the bad ones. It was those black, uncaring eyes in the dove that terrified me most of all, as if peace itself had died.
