Boy talk about gullible. You rally had going. I thought your house was haunted. Great job of hooking (this reader) and saving the surprise till the end.

I paid my five bucks fully expecting to lose just having fun with the masters of horror.

This story sounded like what I could readily identify with. Frustration with a tripped breaker, having to repeat the process, all confused and stressed--I almost panic and could scream.
It reminded me of Murphy's Law: If a thin can go wrong, it will."

But about Sam and his apparent ignorance or lack of professional knowledge of electricity hinted this is another gnere, not just a narratin of my troubles.

You have a lot of interesting stories. I'm sure you have a few about plumbers and electricians too. Thanks.

Hi Ingrid,
well you had me sucked right in... I'm thinking yeah, I have problems with power too... and then boom! You've lost it... or gained it, I'm still not too sure... well I believed the sixes thing, but words coming alive, hero's sweeping you off your feet... pounds and years? Riches and anxious lovers? Dream on you man-eater... loved it... you never fail to have me cracking at sometime in every story you write... and that's precious.

All the best in this contest... you had me screaming... screaming in laughter.

With our thoughts we create,
fantasy island,
James xx

I didn't win and didn't expect to, mostly just having fun with the other horror writers in the contest. If you've never read Dean Kuch, you should. He is one sick puppy.

Writing can be frustrating even when there is no magical element at play. Sometimes a person feels like screaming and throwing the computer out the window whether it's open or not.

I've had that temptation many times, but so far have been successful in reminding myself that I'll need to clean up the mess and pay to replace the window. Thanks for reading.

That's the kind of power surge we all wish to have, lol. Fun story, not gory like the rest of the entries but fun to read and with happenings that would have me screaming. Good luck in the contest!

What a power surge! More than anyone could hope for. I especially liked the UPS guy who looked just like the hero you'd been writing about. Having everything you wish for is my idea of a power surge. You've written this with engaging style, and everyone can relate to the computer problems. Many time repairmen can be as clueless as the electrician you describe. Fun reading. judi

That was a fun story of strange happenings. You made good use of language in the narrative and descriptions and it flowed along at a steady pace. Good luck in the contest, most enjoyable. Faye

I'm quite certain I won't fare well in the competition, but I had a blast writing this story. Thanks.

Oh yeah, it always seems like the other guy has got way better stuff, doesn't it? Good pirce, which I can relate to, never fails the minute I decide to really buckle down and write the computer dies on me. Good story and good luck with the contest.

You clearly had fun with this one. You had me going in the beginning but laughing at the end...sorry no screaming, but he, if it were me, maybe I would have screamed! Good luck in the contest.

Don't know if you'll win your contest, but you won a smile from me. I particularly enjoyed celebrating all those sixes with you. I was pretty inactive on the site for awhile. Get back and Erik and Lee are winning everything! Bill

I'm not going to win and didn't expect to, just having some fun with the more celebrated horror writers on this site. But I was going for the smile. Thanks.
