I love a limerick and so many people don't really get them right, especially with the site insisting on an exact syllable count. Still, having said that, you have shown that the count can indeed work. This limerick of yours is cheeky and cute and as one of four sisters, (even if I am long in the tooth rather than missing one as in your pic), I really get the sibling rivalry thing between sisters. Love the alliteration in "truth-twisters", "there's threat" and "reproval resistors". I think this is a winner for sure though sadly, merit isn't necessarily the criteria for coming out on top in contests but I wish you the best of luck. x Pix

Hi Pix :) Thank you for your great feedback! I love limericks....well, well written ones anyway lol! I love the challenge of getting the rhyme and flow just right - I stuck to the syllable count requested by the sponsor with this one, although other limericks I've written have used different counts.
Thanks for the good luck wishes too, I came 3rd in this booth... not too bad!
Loved your comments about being long in the tooth (unlike my daughter with her happy grin!) The girls are really called Rebecca and Katie, although I altered the names in the limerick for the S alliteration in the first line and so as not to reveal myself (blind contest) as I write about the kids a lot.
Thanks again for your lovely review. Debs x

I used to write limericks to my girlfriend in high school. One actually made her laugh so loud, she got detention. I wonder where that girl is now? I think limericks are an art form and their fun. Good luck.

Hahahaha! Okay, there's an understanding parent if ever there was one. Those two are going to have a hard time trying to put ANYthing over on THIS mom.

What a great limerick - such strong language! I loved it. :)

Cute little ditty about the mischievous play between two siblings. Meets the contest criteria nicely with an added adorable photo to compliment.

Hi Brooke :) Thank you for your great feedback... of course the little liars in the picture aren't named Suzanne and Samantha, but I have to hide my identity! Glad you enjoyed the limerick.... I think all children lie - hope they grow out of it soon! Kindest regards as always...:)

I enjoyed your limerick very much! Brings back memories of my childhood and my boys' childhooda. All so true. I loved your rhyming words, in particular "sisters" and "truth-twisters." I am new to FanStory and have written only 3 poems so far. I look forward to trying a limerick. Thanks for sharing.

I can see the truth jumping out with these cleverly crafted words.
I really like the clever word choices and the amazing way they tell a truth that all parents know-if caught out blame someone else.
A lovely presentation and cheeks image choice.
The syllable count is correct and it certainly is funny.
Good luck in the contest.
