This explains a lot about why he was living in the cabin away from civilization. PTSD is a terrible sickness. I've seen it in men in the military who have returned from duty. Even my own brother-in-law, has to spend a lot of time in solitude when he returns from a mission. Some meds help, but they never erase the nightmares.

I felt sad for the pain and horrific circumstances the characters are experiencing. The realities in the country viewed by our troops after they return is an ugly truth we all need to address.
The coffee and long pauses often are needlessly added.
Great story; will enjoy more!
