I can remember drooling over the big 64 box of Crayolas--the one with the built-in sharpener. My mother claimed it was a gimmick--No one needs that many colors!
She was right--if she was speaking only for herself.

This is a delightful Spring/Easter poem. With a little lesson reinforcement thrown in.

Peace, Lee

Beautiful words and perfect rhyming quatrains.
The colourful display of spring flowers in the artwork, compliments your poem.

Back to the flower garden, and it's never been more welcome. Excellent ballad form. I esp. like 'Periwinkle sky, and, Each bright magenta rambler rose.' Kenny

What a lovely poem describing these beautiful little wonders of the world! Dainty little roses and crunchy green grass, isn't Spring amazing? Happy Easter!

A lot of fun in this piece you have some wonderful imagery here of a home garden (to me anyway)your rhyming scheme and the flow of the poem are spot on as usual cheers Craig.

Brooke, Brooke, how does your garden grow? With words that sing and lines that flow. Alliteration and sensory details brighten this poem and a plethora of color, new and old, make this poem grow.

I like the way that you incorporate the use of color words into your poem and the poem is so well timed to the Easter season. Nice write. Don and Vicki

Ooh Brookers, nice use of colour names here and Sawyer must be tickled passion pink at the thought of such a clever Grandma. LOL Loved "prettify"...did YOU make that up? If so, sheer brilliance. An Easter Parade here, for ALL to enjoy and you do the flowery bouquets SO well...love your sense of fun amongst the flora, not to mention your vibrant hues as you spun each spoke on the colour wheel for your little man. Way good.
Hugs Phillippa xoxo
PS I liked "minty green" best...VERY descriptive, I could ALMOST eat this one hahahahaha

thanks so much, Phillippa. Nope, not a coined word :-) Miranda's favorite color is minty green, one of the reasons she chose it among the first to teach him :-) But I get a much bigger kick out of hearing him say periwinkle. LOL Brooke

But I won't feel bad using it now haha!

Oh Brooke, I am seriously challenged these days to tell you just how much I admire your poetry! This fairly sings, "Spring", and what could be more lovely than flowers wearing Easter clothes? Delightful!

(Periwinkle - what a gorgeous word, and one I'd all but forgotten! That's a beautiful sky...)
