I loved your "P" words Brooke, wherever they appeared. "periwinkle/pretify/preen and once again you have seen what we all see but in an unusual way. Once I had read your words, I suddenly realize that this is exactly how tall grass looks - reaching upwards and in fact, flowers really DO exist to be attractive to bees and satisfy us as at the same time. Flowers striking "their brightest pose" creates a wonderful image negated the need for your lovely artwork but of course, I loved that too. I was once told when I was fairly new to the site that I didn't need any artwork as my words SHOULD speak for themselves, (not that they did), but I have learned that a complete presentation helps the readers total enjoyment of a piece and I loved this delightful one from you. xx Carol

Thanks so much, Carol - I agree with people that a poem should be able to stand on its own, and I think mine do. The illustrations are bonus decoration, which I enjoy. I would love to have the money to publish large coffee table books of my illustrated poems :-) Brooke

Yours most certainly do Brooke. I never see your artwork as necessary but just as a nice complement to what you say. They just complete the picture. xx Carol

I loved the colors, Brooke, and how gentle and loving this feels. I could read it over and over, it is so beautiful. I'm glad Sawyer is learning His colors. LOL Blessings and Happy Easter, my friend. Blessings

The flowers come to congregate
and strike their brightest pose,
as they show off the finery
of brand new Easter clothes.
The most beautiful event in human history, the Easter the time that Jesus defeats the death, happy Easter

A good poem about the Easter flowers, and the picture that goes with it to make it complete. Good word flow and rhyming, make it easy to read and understand. With a message of pretty Easter colors.

This is lovely, as usual, Brooke :) I love that you used words that Sawyer is learning about the colors in the crayon box. Excellent abcb rhymes and wonderful meter.

How wonderful of you to write a poem using the colors Sawyer knows from the crayon box. Your poem is full of long-awaited color and imagery. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Before I read the author notes I was thinking how the colors sounded like crayons. Your poem comes across as bright and springy as a box of crayons. Nice rhyme and flow. Great poem.
