Hi Brooke :) I always liked the crayon colour name 'burnt sienna'. I loved your poem, the grass in your first stanza sound much like the wild area at the bottom of our garden! No magenta roses to be found there, but gazillions of dandelions! Nice use of alliteration in your second stanza and as always your rhyme and meter are flawless. A very enjoyable read :) hope your having a lovely Easter. Kindest regards, Debra :)

Good on Sawyer for teaching Grandma the colours. This poem is wonderful. It is such a fresh poem so apt for this Easter season. The colours of the flowers are so well shown in the poem. The poem is full of imagery to behold.

I know the feeling Brooke. I have a 3yr old. The way he builds up words and language fascinates me. I record our conversations and he loves to listen to them over and over again. "whobody is picking me up today from nursery?".....he askes...

whobody - I love it :-)

I very much enjoyed your poem and it's comparison to Easter finery. Is your rhyming scheme called bd? I haven't used it myself since I'm fairly new to writing poetry and to FanStory. I'll have to five it a try. Thank you for sharing.

Your little Easter gem flows beautifully with fine poetic tones, and its most significant image of nature's renewal is very nicely depicted and superbly presented.
Great stuff! Enrique

Sawyer is growing up fast and learning fast. This is a lovely poem for Easter. Good alliteration with prettify and preen. That was a big box of crayons to have those colors in it. Lovely picture choice. I am anxious for my pots and window box to be over flowing with flowers like those! Happy Easter. Nancy
